I’ve seen that sign – it’s hideous. Looks low rent and trashy.
Those 3 bldgs should have been torn down. Renovate it, change the name all you want but I can bet there are still thousands of cockroaches there. A dump is a dump!………..and no I have never lived there.
Those lights are great. As a single woman walking home from work in the evenings every day, I definitely feel a lot safer on my walk home. And yes, there are #$%!loads of roaches and it’s a brutal problem but the rent’s good.
Dear Tenant,I’m glad you feel safe with the lights but even though the rent is great , how can you put up with those coaches?? I guess they are included with the rent. I’m sure there are other spots available with rent that could be affordable. To each his own, I guess…but I wouldn’t know how.
they say that having lights on at night can increase your chances of getting certian types of cancer and depression. the human body just wasn’t meant to be assaulted by light at all hours of the day.
You said it, light pouring into you bedroom or property is a pain in the ass. You can complain to the cops if some ignorant bastard is playing his music at four am but any jerkoff business owner can light his parking lot like he wants to be seen from space. It pisses me off to see the waste of electricity so someone can feel “safe”. The only advantage is to the crims who can see really well to paint their stupid slogans or smash and grab. Does anyone think it is a bit creepy the electic company are the ones who are in charge of streetlights? ever wonder why they are on in the broad daylight. No I am not pissed off I just type that way. so get a slingshot some really heavy ballberings and practice your aim. that is what I do
I completely agree that light pollution is a problem. When the comet Hayakutake was visible a few years ago, I heard that some Japanese cities actually dimmed their lights so that citizens could see the comet better. Another anecdote – when Los Angeles suffered the ‘quake, it was without electricity for a bit – some people were really worried about the sky, thinking that the starry wonder they were seeing was a result of the earthquake…. I think a compromise could be reached. Maybe the lights on the towers could be turned off at midnight? And the same could go for that hideous Casino billboard.
