The thing that has been bugging the shit out of me is that Bob Chisholm says he drove by the accident and then called Rodney macDonalds office and left a message saying he “thought Ernie Fage might have been in an accident”, after he had been at a bar with him. Hmmm. If I passed a car that I thought was a friend or collegues that had been in an accident, I would stop… unless….. unless I had been drinking too. Is this bothering anyone else or is it just me?
That was Alfie MacLeod who drove by. Still, the fat dude should have stopped to check. This whole thing was badly handled.
There’s no lesson here…just a reminder of the “Nova Scotian” way of life and what we have to put up with to live here. Before you jump on me for saying this, yes I chose to put up with it , so I stay.
The worst part about this whole thing is how CBC handled the story. They tried every single angle they could find to stir people up about this. I live out of the country so I watch the news via the internet. Last week I had to shut it down b/c I couldn’t stand Norma Lee McCleod and that other knuckle head reporter carrying on about Fage. How the hell can CBC use language like ‘smellin like booze’ in story. Are they the judge and jury on this case? It’s one person’s word against Fage’s that he was drinking that night. Also, I think the interview with the guy who filmed the accident did a decent job expressing his views. He didnt’t slam Fage for what he had done and he didn’t give an inch to stoke the flames of the controversy for the CBC. I’m happy he said he was sorry for the people in Fage’s riding b/c Fage problably did a lot of good work for them. Shame on you CBC for beating a dead horse over and over again.
