Yes, my dog ran toward you barking, with his tail wagging. Yes, he’s relatively large. Yes, he came to me when I called him back. Yes, you freaked out. YES, you were in a CLEARLY DESIGNATED “OFF LEASH” AREA. Read the f-ing signs and don’t go to a DOG PARK if you don’t have a dog, or don’t want to be around dogs. —You’re an asshat

THis is funny !
They went to an off leash dog park & got upset…that there were dogs there…off their leashes !!!!
Ahhh, where’s the U-tub e video for that ?
Wow! Asshat is being kind!
I always assume an owner knows their dog and trust them to leash it if it’s going to try to kill me or let it loose if it’s going to lick me and so far, my throat is intact.
Whether on or off a leash the owner must have control of their animal. Off leash does not equate to letting your animal jump on people. It means it can run freer, not amok.
Take the higher road and chill out on this one. Maybe the guy/gal has a fear of dogs and missed the sign.
Missed the sign? Still doesn’t justify getting pissed off, look up from the fucking cell phone once in a while. Called situational awareness. I would have told him/her to fuck off.
Did they hit it with a stick like the idiot the other day?
Let’s see, an animal running for me, oh what shall I do? Let it get there and attack me or repel it with a stick. I think that’s a no-brainer. You don’t want your animal hit, then control it.
bro tim, shut your ass. if you ever hit my dog when it happily went to say hi to you I’d put you in the damn hospital.
Then don’t let the animal “come happily” towards me without my permission. I don’t know you, you don’t know me and I sure as hell don’t know your animal. Control it. It’s as easy as that.
As for the hospital. Good luck. The most likely result will be you spending some time courtesy of the Queen.
gotta love some of these fucking idiots o.p., no one else will. off leash park, yeah, looks like there are dogs not on leash there, think i’ll go someplace else, but no, i’ll go there to have an arguement. fucking class a numbskull.
Its not only a park for dogs, its also a park for people, myself I am not a dog lover and do not like dogs running towards me, and I do not think people should go somewhere else, parks are for people too, it seems like they have been taken over by dogs and dog owners
i don’t know which park this is, but i’ve noticed this type of bitch is more common than most…bike bitches will begin soon. you’re jogging or walking your dog and i am flummoxed as to why you can’t fucking deal with these basic activities
Bro Tim…I hate to burst your bubble, but unless he shoots you chances are slim he’ll go to jail. Court yes…jail not !
For a few hours More. I do know the system. I don’t expect any length of time in but a few hours in the drunk tank would be nice.
from what I have read, it seems like the only objection was your dog’s behaviour, not the fact that it was off leash.
I think most people expect that if a dog owner lets a dog off leash at an off leash park it at least has been socialized and doesnt display this kind of behaviour. A dog running up to someone and barking at them may not be illegal at an off leash park, but it is still unacceptable and needs to be stopped.
With dogs, much like your children, you are always responsible for their actions.
“Happily went over to say Hi”. That’s retarded. Everyone will just “know” that that dog merrily scampering in their direction – yeah, the “relatively large” one, and oh yeah, barking by the way – is simply happily going over to say Hi.
Right.
Incidentally, if there’s a “dog park” around here it’s not called Shubie or Point Pleasant. Those happen to be “people parks” with some rules allowing dogs under certain circumstances. Oh, and for the OP – I’ve owned dogs, I love dogs, and they seem to like me – but you’re seriously stunned for thinking you were in the right in this situation.
Um, I could be wrong, but “running toward” and “coming when called”, doesn’t sound to me like said dog actually made it to the folks who freaked out?
Of course, I suppose “freaked out” could mean anything…
LOL….freaked out. Stupid fuck shouldn’t have been there. The “Off leash” signs are clearly marked in parks. I would have laughed at the person. 🙂
As a dog magnet (for whatever reason); I have tons of dogs run at me at any given time of day; 99% of these dogs are friendly.
It is easy to tell when it is time to kick a dog in the head, it will only happen once in several blue moons, but it definitely doesn’t sound like your dog was displaying any signs of aggression.
Even dogs that are aggressive, are usually just big scared dogs with shitty owners.
