When I am signalling LEFT while riding my motorcycle that does NOT mean that you can pass me to the LEFT you freaking MORON!!!!
If I did not look behind me before making my right-of-way turn you would have been wearing me as your new hood ornament!!!
Go to driving school and learn the rules of the road before you KILL someone please!!!!!

I am sure Halifax would rank #1 for worst drivers in Canada. What’s with the shithead move of making a right-hand turn from the left-hand driving lane. OP, I feel your pain.
I am assuming that you mean signaling to make a left turn at an intersection – not to change lanes. If it was the latter, then sorry bud its your responsibility to make sure the lane is clear before switching – despite the douchbaggery of some people speeding up as soon as they see you trying to change lanes. If it was the prior, then unfortunately that’s what we deal with riding motorcycles: As fun as they are, we have to spend that much more effort / attention to make sure we don’t come in contact with something we shouldn’t – because unfortunately, we don’t have a steel cage to protect us.
Ustwess: I, the OP, was on a city street with only one lane in either direction. I signalled, then slowed to make my left turn. The driver behind me pulled around me on my left side crossing into the oncoming traffic lane which was free of traffic, hence my ability and right to make my left turn into a driveway being abruptly terminated by the driver behind performing an illegal move. At the very least, the pass should have been made to my right. There were witnesses who were equally astonished at what they had just seen and urged me to chase the driver to get a license #. Thank goodness 23 years riding experience has more than prepared me for the perils of motorcycle riding. As for steel cages, sometimes they can confine us after an accident when to do so would prove fatal. One isn’t safer than the other…they are just different.
Wow… You really shouldve gotten their lisense number!
Woulda got their # but they sped off and it took me a sec or two to get my breath back. By that time they were so far away I’d have endangered others trying to catch up. At least we’re not reading in today’s CH about a certain little biker chick throttling an idiot motorist in the middle of some intersection! LOL!
I feel it oceanlady. if you were leaning left, he probably could have squeezed by you on the right if he was THAT desperate. Instead, he acts like you were a bus. Bikes are awesome, but they come with risks too.
ALL vehicles come with risks PDG.
Yesterday (Monday) all the dunderhead drivers were out. I had one girl in a Jetta go straight on in the left turn lane, scaring the shit out of me as she took direct aim at my car, followed not long after by an idiot in a Civic cutting across two lanes of traffic while merging onto Bayers Rd inbound at the end of the 102 and trying to occupy the same space in the right lane as me. Bad time of year.
Lots of students zooming around in their U-Hauls! I’ve never seen so many. Saw one run into another one today, it was a hoot.
Now Mole Rat, you should know that two U-Haul trucks bumping into each other simply means younger U-Hauls will arrive in 9 months 🙂
Yes you can easily locate their mating grounds by looking for giant piles of discarded belongings along the roadside.
