Why do people in Nova Scotia drive in the left lane on the high way but never pass – I have to risk my ass passing you on the inside! Jesus people, learn to fucking drive already or stay the fuck home. ARGH

I was coming in to town today and there was a line of 100 cars in the left lane and no one in the right lane. I overtook them all, but it is dangerous. I constantly honk my horn at the people who are in those cars at the front of the line on the left lane overtaking no one.
And they look over like, “I pay my taxes, I can be a douche if I want to”
I don’t understand this behavior
yeah, I’ve seen a few idiotic bimbo students do this to me before…
completely oblivious to the fact that they’re in the wrong lane.
can’t help but rant and rave at the steering wheel until they get a clue and move the fuck over.
I hear that this only happens in Nova Scotia!
Travel the world baby, see the sights.
This is indeed annoying. Only in Nova Scotia are there people bitching about people driving too SLOW, ha ha. Everywhere else I’ve been they drive like maniacs!
I wish I had a plough to push these arses out of my way! What part of “keep right except to pass” do they not understand?
They need flashing amber signs at every fucking passing lane “KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS”. That doesn’t mean stay in the left lane because you intend to pass that car 5K down the fucking road, right lane, signal, shoulder check, pull out and pass, right signal, shoulder check, and pull the fuck back in. Simple! It not rocket appliances.
That’s nothing…at least you can get by.
My favorite idiot(s) is the ones who drive 90-95 in a 100 zone where there is uncoming traffic, but when a passing lane opens up , they go 120-125 until they get to the other end …& its back to 90-95…I’ve never understood it .
But what I have found to be great fun, is with the motor I’ve got now in my truck (Vortec Max), I get behind one of these bozo’s playing that game…when I get in front of them …I do the same thing only slower ~:)
God It makes my day to see them ranting behind me .
Thank fucking god it’s legal to pass on the right in NS!! If it weren’t, I would lose my mind coming up the Circ every morning!
Florida has recently outlawed ‘cruising’ in the hammer (passing) lane…subject to a fine and points…it’s a problem there as well.
In the UK, there are the ‘hogs of the (middle) lane’…people who feel “safer” with a lane on each flank.
Trouble is, in both cases you are blocking my truck, and if I pass you inside in a great heaving noise of jake brake and weaving trailer, it’s gonna be worse for you, so move on over. If I have to pass you inside, I may forget to leave you room when I come back over, and I often pride myself on my missing trailer mudflaps…
Lalaland must be getting overcrowded. Lots of these a-holes in NS.
There was a video on youtube of a guy with a train horn in his car- JUST what you need for these twats…
fuck you gotta go at least 120 k in any lane on the 401 just to keep up
Keep up marrtym ? on the 401 haha your getting passed doing 120 LOL!!!
I’ve noticed a slight slow down on the 400 series roads this year.
first, you got the new “40+ over and they can crush it” law…
second, you had the OTA fool everyone into thinking that 105 kmh “limiters” on heavy trucks would “improve’ flow (guffaw)…when all it does is create “elephant races” where two or three trucks tie up all but the hammer lane…where the four-wheelers tail-gate each other inches apart, lol…
In actual fact, the OTA did that to grab market share of US-Ontario-US truck loads…as few US companies will govern their trucks to 60 jst to come up there…so guess who gets all the loads? The OTA.
People are easy to fool when you bring up ‘safety’….Think of the Children!
HAHA BMF I haven’t driven the 400 series since awhile back – but yes ” think of the children “
!!!
A friend of mine does this all the effing time. We will be on a road trip to lands far away such as Boston, or Montreal and she does it constantly. I can’t handle being a passenger when she’s driving like that, particularly in foreign lands. Especially when these places have aggressive drivers who have no qualms about tailgating the shit out of you.
yeah montreal highway drivers are not to be fucked with
It is a pain in the ass when that happens , but I am not sure how it’s more “dangerous” to pass on the inside. Fill me on this.
Kirbul; so you’re thinking that it’s just as safe to have cars weave in and out, as apposed to slow lane-fast lane? Most drivers don’t expect to be passed on the inside on a highway.
Not that these idiots would be checking their blind spots or their mirrors.
(IMO)
for the most thrilling driving experience one can ever have, try the german autobahn,or in france,i think it’s the a-3.years back, when i did a stint over there,i had the unfortunate experience to drive the bahn, you think people drive fast here and in montreal, hell, you ain’t seem nothing yet.over in most european countries, there are no restricted speed limits, and very few accidents, btw.
but the ones they have are a fuckin massacre.
There’s usually not a lot left in tact.
It should be mandatory to take driving courses every 10 years in this country. A day in a classroom with the drivers manual would clear up a lot of these bad driving habits……then again, people have to WANT to improve their skills. Some of these fuckers may as well be driving a toaster, they consider a vehicle and appliance anyway.
I agree with Bullet, though I think it should be every 5 years. It would create jobs and keep us all safer.
WIN WIN.
Greece is a great place to drive too, they only have 2 lanes most places but the slow drivers drive on the shoulder and the fasties overtake them on the left. They don’t have nonsensical people who don’t pull over to let faster vehicles pass. It doesn’t occur.
Bullet: My ideas for a few quick fixes to the current system:
1) Keep the inspections at 2 year intervals, but don’t let the mechanics do the inspections, have Access NS do them. Then we don’t have to worry about getting ripped off by the mechanics because they’re no longer the ones determining what needs to be fixed on your vehicle. This will create a province wide standard that is easier to adhere to.
2) Re-test drivers every 3-5 years (depending on age bracket). Each bracket has it’s own base rate for insurance. How well you score on your test (as well as previous record, etc) are factored in to determine your insurance rates. (But, you can only be tested once a year, so you can’t keep going back trying to lower your rates). This will level the playing field and create a more equal insurance industry.
3) We have registration and inspection stickers now, why not add in an insurance sticker? Have a bright red one right above the blue one on your window that shows that you have up to date insurance.
These are just base ideas of course, but I think that they would drastically help improve the habits of drivers today.
1. or ensure that the mechanic performing the inspection isn’t allowed to perform the work to get it up to snuff… then there is no reason for him to bother lying about what’s wrong.
This still allows you to find good mechanics that will let things slide based on the fact they may know you (works better rurally, but still…. I drive my car less than 8000 km a year so a lot of things that would need to be changed on others cars much sooner can go on mine since they aren’t likely to degrade as quickly due to lack of usage)
2. five years sounds fair until you get up to some arbitrary age, say 60. then yeah, reign it in every couple/few years or so…
3. what is your fascination with stickers? and if you’re going to put it anywhere, put it on the bottom of the license plate so you don’t clutter up the screen.
soon they’re going to be like those transparent oled’s ya know.

TIM we need a “mobile Speedbump” tag lol.
Bullet sounds like Kay
zZz, your name doesn’t begin with “J” by any chance does it? lol
Not really too up to date on the technology so this may be a stunned comment, but wouldn’t it be kind of annoying watching something on your comp when you can see through it. This of course coming from someone who get’s annoyed by light reflections on the T.V screen.
LS,bullet’s position is MORE gov’t. Mine would be to stick your registrations, inspections and stickers up your hairy ass. I think invention and technology should be made accessible and shared, not limited or denied. I don’t understand your need to control everything and everyone, bitches. Just pay attention to your own car, your own driving, your own passing lane and your OWN business. We’ll all get along much better on the roads.
Oh, and if you’re driving the 103 daily SLOW THE FUCK DOWN. That will help too.
Not for more gov’t at all. Learn the rules of the roads and how to fuckin drive and there wouldn’t be an issue. Yeah Kay, you’re one of those mindless drones, oblivious to the world around you. Everyone says “Slow the fuck down”, and it’s fucking bullshit, 10Km/h on a 100 series highway last week, is that fucking slow enough for you? KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS. Never mind the people that speed,(you want to talk about control issues) not your fucking problem.
oh no… I’ve been had.
was it my facebook status? I thought that may bite me.
message me if so, I’m getting jealous of Kitty and Fat being friends on here…..
That’s right people, it’s true! we’re not all bots writing inane drivel.
Actual people are posting actual thoughts.
i don’t know who any of you are and i like most of you…lets keep it that way
come to think of it… unless you’ve misrepresented yourself in your posts fallingangel,
I can’t think of who you are.
A chick who used to live in a muslim country, has tattoo(s), and a child.
I don’t *think* I know anyone that matches that description….
hmmmmm
hmm..I’m thinking it is a coincidence that your name begins with the same letter as the person I was thinking of. If it was you (person I’m thinking of) I’m pretty sure you would know it was me, and yes I realize that makes absolutely no sense.
But, on the same note, the computer monitor link you put up, which is a recent-ish conversation I had with said person, the math logic, the computer screen pic you use to have that goes with the username zzz, it’s possible….
*insert twilight music*
ok, now you’re creeping me out. I’m thinking more and more you know me and I can’t figure you out.
and ug. twilight. that is my official stance on it.
I’ll give you another hint which will give me away.
rubik
now your turn.
hmm..well that could be a hint, if not an obvious one.
Let’s just say if your name begins with “J” and you’re 27, then that’s just too coincidental and your that person.
o, and a really obvious hint…we dated.
That would most definitely give it away.
welly welly well what have we here than do tell do tell 🙂
uh…….
so much for finding a ‘friend’ on here…
🙂
that’s a seriously short list you’ve narrowed down.
Me thinks you’ve been had too.
It doesn’t take a Mongolian with a pointy stick to figure that out.
Balls , what I mean is if people are staying in the slow lane and only passing in the fast lane, then aren’t they still “weaving in and out”. I guess I just don’t see how one is any more “dangerous” then the other is all.
hmm, I think there is a good chance of me being “had”.
I didn’t figure you were the person I was thinking of when you said that no one you knew fit my profile.
Anyhow,
what odds : )
or wait, now I’m seriously confused..is it you?
considering the vast coincidental data, I’m still not convinced one way or the other….
and now it’s bugging me.
Is there a clone of me out there somewhere?!??!!?
I pity the world if so. I (and likely many others) often think one of me is bad enough.
though I can’t reveal too much for fear of complete spamming from everyone else…
they are regular bitchers after all.
do ophidian, mullet, and Acadia apply to the person you’re thinking about?
hah, no def not. I was just talking to “you” on the phone and it’s definitely not. But the other person is totally confused and drove nuts now. I didn’t want to give myself away.
Although if they read this then I most certainly just gave myself away. Dammit.
wow, those similarities are eery. I could have a pretty good buddy out there somewhere in vast halifax.
btw, mullet doesn’t apply to me now… I’d like to clear the air on that.
And I certainly don’t walk around like a PeopleOfWalmart reject….
hah,
Yeah the similarities are definitely a little eery to say the least.
But at least it’s cleared up, that was going to drive me mad!
