You people. You know who you are. You list your ‘1 bedroom available in 5 bedroom house’ under the ‘1 bedroom’ section of the website instead of under the ‘room rental, roomates’ section so I have to wade through 22 pages of incorrectly organized listings to find an actual 1 bedroom apartment…..and don’t even get me started on the ones listed under ‘Halifax’ because the description contains ‘only 3 hours from halifax’.

I like the “secure building in a quiet neighbourhood” description when talking about the ghetto 🙂
Good luck!
I agree with the OP. I hate that. I find it happens on other sites as well. Or you’ll get houses for sale under then rent section. I know they are just trying to get more exposure, but it’s frustrating when you are actively looking through many ads when half of them aren’t in the correct spot.
I too went through this pain a little over a month ago while looking for a new apartment. I find using the filters helps a lot. I took the time to scroll through page after page after page of “1 bedrooms” (rooms for rent) and eventually stumbled upon the gem that is my new place. I’ve got 1000+ sq ft, back yard with garden, side yard with firepit, a huge deck with bench seating and a propane stove all for $500/mth. And oh yeah, did I mention it’s right on the water? Don’t dispair OP. There are tons of really nice places in and around Halifax/HRM. You just have to dig deep to find them. And be glad that the site you’re using is free. Used to be that the only way to find a place was to buy a copy of the CH or head out and look. Even with the misleading ads, it’s still a hell of a lot easier than the old fashioned way.
you’ve got to be in dartmouth…
Nope. Not in Dartmouth.
I went through this too while looking for a new place for August. You would be getting ready to contact the poster because it sounded awesome – then it’s a bedroom in a 4 room house or something stupid.
Although, my apartment that I found on there after trawling through the ads for many an hour, is awesome. Persistence is the key.
Hey OP,
you could always live in a van down by the river.
No way, that’s my spot!
I know I love the “3 hours from Halifax” thing. I saw an ad charging $1000 for a 2 bedroom apartment, close to amenities and what have you. about 15 min from HRM. I was thinking somewhere in clayton park or near that area. I looked up the address on google maps. The freaking thing was in Bridgewater. How the fuck is that close to HRM???!!!!
they obviously don’t live there then if they think it’s only 15 mins…..
unless they own a viper and have some underground tunnel straight to the city.
either that or they’re using the word HRM liberally and they’re only 15 mins to the region’s line.
