Ok so I understand some people like\love horror action films…but I take offense to the ads being shown for this movie…do they really need to show the poor girl shoved face down in the dirt while it is directly implied she is being raped?!!?!?! It is so goddamned upsetting and offensive I cannot believe they were allowed to show such detail in the commercial, regardless of what time it is aired…it’s offensive and disgusting.

—Nice to see tjhat right before bed….great thanks for the trauma filled sleep!!!

  1. I know exactly how you feel!! I wake up every Sunday morning and I see Jimmy Swaggart and Joel Osteen preaching on every other channel! It’s so offensive and upsetting that I get the heeby-jeebies all damned day!! I end up feeling guilty about pulling-pud all day and it totally ruins my “happy time”. When will it all end?!?!

  2. Sorry, but if a preview of an artistic representation of a violent crime causes you to have a trauma filled sleep, you must have a real rough go at life.

  3. This pisses me off because the original version of Last House on the Left was a very, very good film. Yes it was graphic in a sense, not a lot of gore, but it was very realistic and quite scary. It was based on a true story.

The previews for this film seem to make a mockery of what happened to those girls, and glamourizes the villains.

I will NOT be seeing this movie, and I recommend the old one (70s/80s I think? cant remember, its been a while) to anyone interested in watching a very well made film. It was transgressional, yes – but it was realistic and respectful to the victimes.

Those fucking commercials are sick. Im glad others agree.

  4. The original was a wes craven flick so no wonder it was better. These days any joe off the street seems to get a shot at directing horror flicks.
Did anyone see that one with the guy who kills the audience in the movie theater as they watch it on the screen? he was the director and comes back every time his movie is watched…
Personally, I’m glad I can’t remember the name. That movie was so god damned awful I was hoping he’d jump out and kill me half way through it.

  5. Okay, first of all, Last House on the Left was seen as a horrible, exploitative and highly upsetting movie when it was first released so I have NO idea why they re-made it. Secondly, I disagree with showing the previews for it on any primetime channels for the reasons you’ve stated. They’re just sick.

  6. I saw these commercials many times but never paid attention to them til I read this bitch. I watched that one a couple times and I think everyone that thinks its too graphic should take a look at themselves. OP you said its directly implied shes being raped? I didn’t take it that way. The guy says something about what he did to the daughter then it shows her being pushed into the dirt. To me it could have been her tripping and falling, being pushed facedown on the ground because some was holding her hands behind her back, or she could have just been thrown on the ground. If you think it “directly implies to her being raped”, I think you are reading way too much into it. Maybe its because I didn’t see the first one, there may be raped involved in it I don’t know but to me I think its your mind working overtime to find stupid things wrong with 30 sec commercials. Maybe you guys should be directors because you seem to have great imaginations if you get that from a 5 sec screen shot.

  7. I’m more offended that in order to make the movie more politically correct, they had to have someone else vindicate her. In the original she took back the night but good, all on her own.

I’m way more offended by those stupid car commercials with the masked lurker and the sleeping women. Now that shit is fucked up and pointless.

  8. it’s a fuckin movie… it happens in real life all the time… if you see it come on turn the channel and don’t watch it in the theatre… i saw the commercial last night and alls i could think was “i’m not gonna go see that” THIS HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE ALLLLL THE TIME and we all know it.

  9. When I see these kind of ads, I think of coffee breaks on the set, the rapist and victim yakking about the Golden Globes or Posh’s new tit job.

Horror movies attract a certain type of person, one who delights in shitting themselves in a popcorn cup. Most of us would rather not be reminded of the gross, nasty crap that goes on in the world daily. My suggestion – if this ad upsets you, click to the next station. However, you are taking a chance in seeing something much more horrifying – Steve Smurfy and/or Liz Pygmy.
