It’s unbelievably appalling and disrespectful that a particular sleazy establishment in HRM is asking women to strip down for cash on Remembrance Day, a day when Canadians are supposed to be remembering those who gave their lives to fight for our freedom. This couldn’t be more of a slap in the face to the veterans directly across the street. —Soldier

  1. Finally an original bitch.

Hmm.. women are stripping for cash the other 364 days a year and you don’t have a problem with that OP, do you OP? These women could give a fuck about remembrance day, they got bills.

    Which establishment is this again?

  2. and OP, fuck off. Are you telling me that USING your freedom to be a complete turdhole is not an adequate way of celebrating the freedom you have?

Or are you just old and bitter?

  3. sign-up sheet is over at Sux’s place…
you’ll have to sign this waiver form too…
    I’d READ the fine print.

  4. I think the veterans would love this idea. I can’t think of a better way to express our freedom.

Besides Remembrance Day isn’t even a national holiday. Not all Canadians celebrate it.

  5. Yeah, I was there last Friday and at first I was excited that another Amateur Night was coming up but then I realized the weekend that it was happening was Remembrance Day. I guess that one thing to consider is that for the rest of Canada, unlike NS, it’s business as usual. Stores are open and people are out doing their regular stuff….

  6. Is this how those protesters plan on celebrating Remembrance Day? After all, if you dress like a slut, and act like a slut, then you’re likely a slut. Will those women get time and a half?

  7. Pretty sure OB’s talking about a Right Awesome Little Place that’s not in Halifax *apostrophe*, Suckers not being closed on nov 11th.

  8. Men fought and died so that these women could take off their clothes for cash. And I, for one, salute them for that.

  9. Businesses will use holidays to sell their product. I take it you don’t frequent this establishment in the first place OP, so what’s it to you?

  10. interesting o.p.? what do you suggest they strip down for, me? shit, i’ll go along with that anytime.

  11. Right. I should say full contact strip clubs are illegal in NS as well as everywhere else in Canada excluding Quebec. Most states, too if not all. Montreal has brothels that operate in the open n shit..

  12. tommy.. never been to Niagara falls?
    Mississauga area?

If you have, based on you post you’ve forgotten some good times….

  13. Well, I won’t be there, I have something much more important to do.
    But as a veteran, I wouldn’t turn down a free lap-dance.

  14. me either hugo. but if kitty is interested, or rosie, or anyone??? except seb, that is, i will only go so far guys.

  15. cool. So the strippers have assets so big, they can slap me in the face while I’m across the street? wuhoo!!! Lets get a group of guys together, and check them out

    🙂

  16. Now this is what young fighting men can really appreciate, too bad we couldn’t ship a dozen or so over to the boy’s (& girls) in Afghanistan.
So they can see some of the more important rights they are fighting to uphold. Invite the local sheik’s. Man I’d love to be in that room !

  17. I’d send them down to the Grand Parade this weekend. Quick show of hands, who wants to see a real, live naked lady?

It damn well should be a stat holiday. A National Day of Mourning and Remembrance. And I realize that this was probably just a bad selection of wording but we don’t “celebrate” Remembrance Day. It’s not a “celebration”. It’s a day of observance that commemorates Canada’s war dead and an anniversary of the armistice ending WW 1. It’s a day to remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. To give thanks for our rights and freedoms and to reflect upon the values and benefits that we as Canadians hold so dear and enjoy on a regular basis but are often times taken for granted. None of it came without a cost.
Unfortunately, there are still a few places in this country that feel that the best way to pay their respects is to go shoe shoppiing at the local mall. It’s bad enough that most people only think about these sacrifices during a 2 minute moment of silence 1 day a year, but some provinces can’t even give the veterns and war dead one measly day. The all-mighty dollar wins out again. Call me old-fashioned but, I find that extremely sad.
