Does anyone else think it’s weird that the term “barista” applies to both males and females? It just seems like a more feminine word to me.
We could call the dudes “Barristers”, but that would mean a long, drawn out ordering process, my frappucino would cost $200.00 an hour, just for an opinion and I’d be liable to lose it on appeal. No thank you

I’m a barista (and actually work with the barista mentioned in this “love”… I have no doubt it’s him), and yeah, I’m a guy. Haha. I’m sure we’re supposed to be called baristo or something, the male version of barista. But they pretty much assume (and are correct more often than not) that North Americans won’t know that language system. Considering about 90% of the people that come through my doors don’t know how to pronounce “coretto” or “paradiso”, I’m not too worried.
