Part of my college course includes working at homes belonging to individuals who require personal support. If the transit strike continues the last eight months of my life will have been wasted, all the money I’ve put into school and living expenses WASTED because of this effing strike. I just want to get my degree so I can go out and help people!!! The strike is preventing me from doing this, the unions effing selfishness and disregard for the thousands who rely on public transit is preventing this. I think the rolling stones put it best when they said “You can’t always get what you want,” suck it up and get back to work. —Frustrated Student

okay, what the fuck is going on here, some of my comments aren’t showing up here. i only hope there is some kind of glitch, if not, well then fucking tell me why.
i hear yah OB!
I think your problem, Frustrated, is the poor quality of what you refer to as your “education.” Are you paying attention, Frustrated? The fact of the matter is that there is no logical relationship between the “Lack of Transit” on the one hand and Lack of Education” on the other. They are independent and unrelated concepts. The one is not related to the other. Do you understand that, Frustrated?
Of course, in your primitive conception of “education,” the transit strike is working to prevent your completing your “degree.” But in what, exactly, is that “degree,” Frustrated? Is it not rather some sort of “diploma” related to some practical aspect of “homecare?” Be careful how you reply.
You see, Frustrated, that is not a degree at all. It has nothing to do with education properly conceived which is concerned with matters of the mind. You are in a “training” program, Frustrated, which is concerned with obtaining a job. Do not confuse the two.
I hope this will provide some sort of intellectual clarity for you, Frustrated, which, if nothing else, will work to enable you to make even the most primitive but necessary conceptual distinctions.
A pleasure as awlays.
Cheerio!
Well said, MM, as always.
I’m awlays baffled by spelling and grammar.
