  1. Well, obviously he would have served you when he was done with the man who was there BEFORE you…I don’t see what the big deal is. How is it his fault that someone else was being served and your kid got impatient?

  2. The clerk gave her a look that could have been interpreted as “this customer is working my nerves raw. Now your kid’s upset. I wish I could get to you sooner”. Of course, my fit-throwing child could embarass me enough to blame someone else for my own impatience and I might see it as a smug shut-your-kid-up look too. Perspective is everything.

  3. If its the Music Store I think she’s talking about I know what she means, because if you don’t go straight to the counter, and force someone to talk to you by straight out asking them, they won’t help you. Unless of course they know you because you’re a regular, which most of the random people there are. I’ve gone in with friends who are regulars, and they bend over backwards for them, but I’ve gone in to buy presents for those friends, and stood around for far too long with no one helping and then had to finally just stand in front of the cash register and flag someone down before someone would help me.

  4. just start playing the instruments (piano’s specifically), and they’ll be all over you like white on rice (I’m not sure if that’s because they think you’ll buy a piano or they want you to leave them the fuck alone, but it’s worked for me).Anyway, OP, obviously they were busy with customers who were there before you? This time of year it’s busy and going to a music store is never an “in and out” kind of thing from my experience. I’ve had great service at these places, but I’ve had to be patient and wait a bit. Perhaps you should leave your kids home when you go shop? Just because you have kids doesn’t mean the world should have to cater to them and their tantrums. Just sayin’. If you can afford to drop a “few hundred” surely you can afford a babysitter.

  5. OP here!Pretty Kitty, a babysitter would of been excellent, my husband out of town and family working and my usual babysitter out of the city ment i took them with me. could i of waited until i had someone to watch my kids? sure i could of.. but the point was that i didnt, just because i have kids with me doesnt make me think i shoul dbe waited on hand and foot. My children had nothing to do with it, the point was i wasnt even looked at when i walked in. Mabye i should of taken my four year old over to the drum secton. im sure that would of gotten someones attention!I went back to that same store today, my dad had asked me to pick something up for him., I told the manager what had happened as he was the one who greeted me as soon as i walked threw the door, i got an appologie at least and a few guitar pics for free. as i was buying strings for my dads guitar for him.The appologie was all i needed!. I may return there… alone next time

  6. This MUST b Music Stop in Dartmouth. A familiar story. You’re not alone, OP. What’s worse (if I’m right about the store) is they recently been bought out by Long & McQuade, which sets a most prestigious quality standard. MusicStop is FAR from the quality of service L&M think they’re delivering. Tell on them! Call up the franchise and say so. Maybe then MusicStop would be interested in hiring experienced musicians rather than guys who like to get dressed up in a uniform who don’t know a g-string from their assholes.

  7. BTW that little music shop across the street is teeming with pissed off customers from MusicStop. Good for them!

  8. Yeah, that place across the street does a great pickup business from disgruntled customers from across the way. I stopped going to Musicstop years ago. Got sick of them treating me with disdain because I’m not a “serious” musician. They only treat you well if you’re a pro performer. I’ve turned to buying my strings and such online. That way I don’t have to deal with anyone who thinks I’m not worth their time just because I only dabble in music.

  9. op again.. Kay youre right on the money on that one. My father used to work for musicstop in halifax before they were boughten out and musicstop laid off ALL the highest paying people and L&M kept the morons who work there!. I think i may write a little email off to L&M actually..
