Ad: asking $200 obo
Email: will you take $100
Seller: I’ll drop my price to $150 obo. Do you want to come see it?
Email: I’m afraid that the two of us are a bit too far apart in price. Can you come down on price more?
Seller: Seller: There are two other guys listing at $300, I’m already down to $150 obo and we are only $50 apart from closing a deal. Are you sure you won’t come out and see the item then make me an offer?
No email —WTF? a tire kicker shopping for a wow price?

It’s even worse if you over-value so that when they do try to undercut you, it comes to roughly what you wanted anyway. Then you get all the snarky, “x has it for way less”… and “that’s way too much” responses.
Duh… I’m counting on people being douchebags… obviously.
Always best to list it, no obo. you want it, pay what I’m asking.
usually instead of obo, I offer to deliver so they still feel they are getting more out of the deal. feels more like amazon than shitty “kigigi”
What I hate about the Kgeege is that you get hassled by Pawn Brokers who low ball you and waste your time. Here’s an paraphrased interaction I had a couple of months ago:
Me: PS3 Console, 8 games, 4 controllers $275
Pawn broker using personal email: I’ll buy the lot for $150, money in your hands right now.
Me: New console alone is $269 at retail. I’ll sell it to you for $250
PB: LOL you’ll never sell
1 day later
PB (using the same email address but this time from a different service): I’ll buy the lot for $150, money in your hands right now!
Me: $275 firm, didn’t I talk to you yesterday?
PB: No, I’m just an interested buyer who likes to buy anything of value!
Me: yeah, $275 firm or no deal.
PB: LOL you’ll never sell
2 days later
Real person: I’ll give you $240 for it
Me: Deal, where do you want to meet?
RP: No worries, I’ll be right over, I just need to pick up the cash.
I sold an old washer a couple of months ago and this reseller kept offering $70 for a $600 5 year old washer for an entire week. Sold it for $175 (Listed at $250).
My experiences on Kijiji havn’t been too bad. I’ve sold a few things and encountered the usual low ballers. To which I always say “yes, I’ll take your offer” and then fall just short of arranging the actual pickup.
OBO does mean “or best offer”, right? Kind of set yourself up for that.
PS- I’ve also been known to post false ads on Kijiji…… I miss the Captain.
Reasonable exchange. Dull Bitch. Fail.
I dunno MEaty, arn’t dull bitches a good thing?! does the coast have to be miserable just to feed your satanic lust for bitches!?!?!(a complaint, not a woman, i’ve been around long enough to know which way you go!) I know mine does and I agree!!!!!!!
Yes Haz, they do. Indeed they do. Fail.
It’s probably better that they didn’t, OB. They would probably be trying to knock you down to $75 in person.
