  1. Any other major metropolitan centre would be bent over with its ass high in the air waiting for the reach-around of 1000’s of people looking to throw their money around. Halifax on the other hand, keeps its sphincter wired tight at every possible opportunity.

  2. Oh yeah next up is the part where Homie gets on his “New Stadium” rant against Tim…Wake me up when the trolls come out…

  3. you know i am going to say something floyd.1) keith urban is too big for the metro center.2) you could be getting a stadium with an articfical surface that would allow many concerts like this to come (the attendance shows there is a market for it)3) the city doesnt pay the artists or anyone really

  4. Whew… I was starting to get a little concerned when you didn’t show up here right away… I started phoning the hospitals, the morgue (God forbid).. Even called the MTP Homie-less Shelter in case you were doing some more social research… Then I found you back here, what a relief…FTR I agree the city needs a stadium, as much or more than anything else… Its too bad the powers-that-be didn’t go after the $$ that were otherwise committed to the games and build a stadium anyway…

  5. its a shame, not only will this city not develop shannon park into anything (like a stadium) by the year 2012 like they would have been able to use for shit like this….. the federal government will not be chipping in a cent like they would have if we had the games. On a related note, nova scotians have now contributed $14.6 million dollars to the Vancouver games. If we are lucky, we will send a whole 15 athletes there. Not a cent of that money actually goes to our athletes. That $15 million could have fixed up plenty of facilites here.

  6. oh by the way, the money that was marked for the games, would never have gone towards the stadium that we really need because in these cases, the province gives money for the entire project, from facilities, to the roads, to the infrastructure that the games would have affected. No one single facility would be assigned the money. My old hometown was going to do this if they didnt get the Canada Games, the feds and the province made it clear that the money was for the games and not one (or more) facility. London wound up having to build its JLC with municipal and private money.
