To a certain very tall apartment building… fix your friggin water! I have been here for over a year and have not had one good shower. It starts off well, then it cold and then out of nowhere, a huge blast of hot water. Sometimes to the point where I have to scream out loud because it’s so sudden and fuckin hot. —Seriously, fix it before someone gets hurt

I know someone who is a super and the showers in their building are so powerful you almost get blasted against the back wall of the shower, not unlike that turbo thingy Kramer installed in his shower in the low-flow showerhead conversion episode. It is therapeutic. It is shower heaven. The public shower at the N. Sydney Marine Atlantic terminal is pretty serious too. I once rented an apartment that had a shower that would stop and start at will. It’s will, not mine. There’s nothing like being all lathered up and waiting endlessly, and chillingly I might add, for the water to reappear to rinse off/warm up. I fully sympathize with the OP. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but some showers are straight from Hell.
haha that’s all i could think of when i read the bitch http://www.gifsoup.com/webroot/animatedgif…
shoot it doesn’t work try this

The Commando 450! That’s IT! I’m sure they were installed in that apartment building with the lovely turbo showers! My gawd, that was the best shower ever!
Despite having to shower in a stall shared by 20 girls, and despite having to shower in shoes and carry all your crap to the shower and back, the showers at Laval were pretty bitchin’. So much water pressure. Felt soooo nice on your back. I have a massaging shower head on my shower at home, but it just isn’t the same.
as long as it’s tall, i hate having to limbo to rinse my hair
OB, you’re suffering from..(dramatic dum dum dummmmm)…partially insulated pipes. Let the shower run for a couple of minutes while you brush your teeth, or get an inline water heater.
PK – pictures, or it didn’t happen :O
Do they make 7 ft high showers PG? 😉
you move into a high rise shithole, you get shit all for services or for your bucks. except for the prestige of being over everyone or so fucking stupid, you made your own bed. did you bitch to them before coming on here and crying your poor little asshole heart out? if not, t.f.b. sucker.
Black Rosie and pain-sis: The shower at the Marine Atlantic terminal in N Sydney is at least 10 ft high! We wee folk are in danger of drowning like silly chickens in the rain but with a snorkel and mask it is turbo-blast shower heaven!
I’ll bring my water wings!
Older (and tall) buildings often don’t have the water pressure necessary to pump hot water from the furnace/water heater up 10, 15, 20, etc floors. Not to mention, if you are waking up and showering at a popular time of day (i.e. just heading to work….7-9am) you had bettr start boiling water.
Okay, so first of all, Life Sucks – Fuck you. You need to haul whatever crawled up your ass out, before someone knocks you out. There was no need to be that goddamn rude.
The building has hot water tanks on three levels so that the water doesn’t have to travel up 15+ floors to get to me. Actually, the tanks are on the floor above me. I’ve spoken to the super about it and they say it’s because of the time of day I’m showering, but I’ve tried every so any different times.
I’ve heard that about the insulation thing Hugo mentioned so I’ll try that. I’ve heard that there’s a new thing that they have to put on pipes, a regulator of sorts, that prevents the burst of hot/cold. Anyone know about that?
nda,
I’m not a plumber, but . . .
I think you’re referring to a pressure balancing valve and I think it’s code in new construction. I put these kinds of fixtures in when I reno’d my bathroom a few years back. Now it doesn’t matter if someone flushes a toilet or starts doing dishes – the pressure might drop somewhat but the water temperature coming out of the faucet stays constant.
That’s all I have to say about that.
Oh, and I just realized I put “plumber” and “but” together in a sentence.
nda, hey , if you can’t take the heat, you know, stay the fuck away from flames, kitchens and other hot things. in your case, not showers tho. sorry to hurt your poor little feelings, but you sound like a whiney little asshole. and anytime you wanna come and try it baby. just a prenamed body bag with you. with your name on it, that is.
I was wondering how long it would take before they would get on the “amazing shower head” topic….
or should I be saying it…
amazing shower “head” ?
Female group showers, you say? Giggity giggity.
i sent you a picture of your beloved on the love 195
I saw that, PG. I found the ruffle thing to be a bit odd.
me too…even though i’m not a fashionista
We all had to share the stall, but it was an individual stall. There was just 20 of us to two stalls. And the second one made me gag, literally, because the shower head was positioned oddly and it didn’t wash down the hair and grossness on the other side of the stall, so I couldn’t use that one (nothing much grosses me out, but I would literally have to stop myself from vomiting when I went in there).
Get your mind out of the gutter you pervs! haha <3
Well that’s rather disappointing. 😛
my warped wittle mind is always there kitty, you all should know that by now, female group showers 195, we are so in there, right guys?
Well. I suppose I can throw you both a bone (heh) and share the stories of getting locked out of my room soaking wet in nothing but a towel. This happened not once, not twice, but 4 times. First time I had to go to the front desk in nothing but a towel to get an extra room key…second and third I had to go to the main floor to get the room key from my mail box in nothing but a towel, and the fourth time my gay husband took pity on me and went to get the key for me.
Silly PK.
hahahaha
Tee hee hee…… The bone may have been meant for LS and 195 but I am afraid I have made an interception. Thanks PK for the lovely midday day dream material…..
😛
My pleasure, my dear *wink*
PK, laval rooms lock by default?
that’s pretty stupid.
The stalls aren’t that big either, I would have thought the spray from the water bouncing off shoulders and other various round objects would be able to cover the other side of the stall…
This is for you PK….

The spray is on the side and the stall is long. It’s mega gross, especially since more girls than guys have long hair and they tend to put their hair up and then the elastics and bobby pins or whatever get dropped and not picked up and OMG *barf*
And yeah, they lock by default. You can switch it, but I always kept mine locked so my shit didn’t get stolen. And since all I could find was a g-damned “Desjardin” bank, i had loads of cash in my room too that I didn’t want jacked.
And the one time I kept it unlocked, I forgot to lock it and my gay husband comes waltzing in the exact moment I decided to take off said towel and attempt to put underwear on. That was kinda awkward.
I don’t think I’m cut out for communal living.
