It seems to be all the rage these days to ask applicants to complete a lengthy assignment in a short period of time, usually over some mechanized online system before you even meet with their face. Job searching is demoralizing enough without such demands, but maybe you could at least give me the time of day to let me know you received my assignment? Or let me down gently when I am not invited for an interview? I know the job market is bad and you have a wealth of choices of over qualified people to pay for their time, but you don’t get to become some nightmare overlord as a result. Stop abusing your power and exploiting desperation. Stop making job applicants feel more like shit just because you can. I’m looking at you municipal gov —people we need your money

just take some job search workshops, get off your arse, and start looking. sitting around the bitch site won’t find you a job.
They are looking for hired help not pals or BFFs etc. At this point they really do not owe you squat. And speaking of overlord types etc. perhaps be happy you were not trying for employment during the “Mad Men” type days, when in many places staff were often treated as modern serfs etc.
