Please, arrogant mouthpieces of the Canadian Conservative party, please stop parroting your (only) slightly wackier Republican brethren south of the border. It’s not strategic – or smart – to get your talking points from the Rick Perry campaign. I’m talking to you Mike Lake. —Dartmouthy

LOL exactly Tommy! I’m a big Maher fan
I’m just surprised …Conservatives in this country think Canadians don’t watch American TV, and that they can just pluck the worst talking points from one of the worst runs for president I have ever seen… and expect us to take it. Fuck
Bill is the man, almost a role model for me, really.
I know, big surprise.
I’ve concluded that conservative politicians in general take the people for complete idiots. Many of us are and that’s their core support base.
In other words they are content to fool some of the people some of the time.
have you seen religulous tommy…it’s one of the boy’s favourites http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5p2bb_re…
darty, i’ll accept that, as long as you accept that this country is fucked.
Yeah I’ve seen it PG, liked it a lot. I respect that he’s not afraid to say anything. Your boy is probably a late 80s baby like me, yes? Maybe older?
1991, so glad he enjoys the same humour we do
I downloaded the documentary “For the Bible Tells Me So” last night. Might watch it tonight. It looks really interesting. It’s about how the bible has been misused by right wing nutjobs to discriminate against women, minorities, and mainly members of the LGBT community. I’ll let you know how it is.
excellent, apparently “jesus camp” is very disturbing
Yeah I think I heard about that one too, isn’t that the one where they all bow to a picture of Bush Jr. at one point?
Oh so he’s younger than me. lol lucky bugger.. I wish I was still 19-20… fuck listen to me, what will I be saying at 60?
the last time we skyped him , i asked him if his beard was ironic or sarcastic, got a good laugh. i like to say i’m half a century old, sounds even older^^yes that’s the documentary, it won some awards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxdt_f0hwUg…
lol @ ironic or sarcastic. Your kid’s not a hipster is he?
haha, no, quite the opposite. he has had a beard, of sorts, since he could grow one
The left wing church of hate is not on higher moral ground.
hear hear GV..lefty anything goes BS grows tiresome to those with morals
I agree about the right wing nuts, so long as we also get rid of the left wing nuts.
Right Wings, Left Wings – drown ’em in hot sauce and they all taste the same.
Asshole Rob Ford has demonstrated that he is completely unfit to be Mayor of Toronto.
Although, I’d love to see him as head of the C.B.C. >; )
MWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA
Your boy is the same age as my younger brother, PG…
@Ivan: Dammit, now you have me craving wings. 😛
Me too, my Japanophile friend. Question: Have you ever heard of a Japanese animated T.V. series called Stratos?
Can’t say that I have.
Near as I can figure it’s a cross between “Sailor Moon” and “The Thunderbirds” except they used actual aircraft designs for the spacecraft that the elite team of big-eyed girls in short skirts used to defend Earth against extra-terrestrial threats. So, Airfix, the classic British model company has dusted off their 1/72 scale kit of the TSR-2, which the makers of the series used.
http://www.starshipmodeler.biz/shop/images…
The TSR-2 was the British equivalent of the Avro Arrow. A groundbreaking prototype that wound up being canceled by a change in government.
I thought it was a neat idea, using obscure but real aircraft in a sci-fi series.
Intriguing…
I’m a 79 child and still most definitely love to watch real time whenever possible! lol. And I agree there are just as many “left wing” as “right wing” nuts out there… this “job creators” term just drives me crazy though… and who really still believes in a black or white right or left two dimensional political universe?? Pretty limiting I’d say. And certainly no place for a libertarian like me (and by libertarian, I mean what it meant before the tea party grabbed a hold of _that_ term) lol…
Dartmouthy, a Libertarian is just a republican who wants to smoke pot and get laid.
It’s true about the ‘job creators’ myth. I know some folks with lots of old, real money and they do things like keep their thermostat at 55∘ in the winter and save their tea bags from the restaurant for reuse (yeah, really). Job creators, my ass.
LOLz Xeno – that sounds like somehting P.J. O’Rourke might say.
On the Canadian spectrum, a Conservative is nothing but a Liberal who actually read his tax assessment. Of course, A Liberal is just a Conservative whose kid has dodged some major jail time courtesy of the Youth Justice Act. >; )
I see no point in comparing Conservative with Liberal. Our recent election results suggest that we should be comparing Conservative with NDP.
Naw a libertarian is someone who believes the government has no place telling someone what to do with their own person and property if they aren’t harming anyone else – in my mind. It’s about personal responsibility.
I’m not all extreme – I still believe in a social safety net… in health care for the poor – and most definitely xeno, in getting laid and smoking pot haha
I keep the heat at 82 😉
Thanks, D-M. I *can* do fahrenheit -celsius conversions in my head, but it just looked wrong to write 2° when writing about indoor temps! Brr!
BTW, Halifax harbour looks lovely and sunny this a.m. from Alderney Gate. (She wrote wistfully as she thought of the forecasted snowstorm…)
Apparently there’s some pretty major flooding on the waterfront.
