Someone I know mentioned today that perhaps the guards put the prisoners up to this to have their demands for better training and more staff. IN a province that still buys votes with a pint, I wouldn’t put it past them.

I disagree Tim. You tell them – “Hot pizza and fluffy new pillows in your cells with extra tv time!”, which in that case will send them running faster than fresh heeled gazelles being chased by a hoard of panthers.

If there’s a provincial election sometime soon, all those prisoners won’t be able to exercise their right to vote like we will! Plus they won’t have the same fun times we have completing any recent census reports.
Nice, sorry to burst your bubble but all prisoners in Canada who are citizens are allowed to vote. Thank the federal Liberals for that one.
I honestly don’t know what they are all complaining about anyway….the way things have been going lately, they’ll all be set free within a week or two of being picked up. Patience, criminials, patience. (How’s THAT for rehabilitation dollars at work? Idiots)

Yes, All Canadian inmates can vote but in FEDERAL elections…NB, NS and Yukon do not allow prisoners the right to vote PROVINCIALLY.
The guards union there is extremely militant and has done nothing to help stem the toxic atmosphere. Until union head guy Jim Gosse decides to start treating this as a problem of his own making, nothing will change. Suspicions about the guards actually enabling this to occur, while possibly untrue, reveal the true atmosphere in that place.
Strange most of the problems have been occuring when rumours of an election are going around. Hmmmmm.
