To the thief who stole my friend’s turquoise LL Bean Gore Tech cycling jacket on the “Rails to Trails” near Halifax last Friday: how can you live with yourself? It wasn’t fifteen minutes from the time we set off sprinting and she lost it and then noticed it gone. Some person we learned had put it on a tree from where you snatched it and must have turned around and run out of town with it. If anyone reads this and knows who took this jacket, please contact me through the Coast. —Disgusted with Thieves

  1. Has your friend checked with the police, Kijiji or anywhere else to see if someone reported it found? If not, do so, it may be being held as found somewhere.

Was your friend wearing it or just left it laying around? If it were so valuable why didn’t your friend secure it some place?

  2. Would a Facebook page dedicated to thieves and vandals be a good idea?

Social media recently helped a parrot and a ferret.

  3. Count my blessings. A couple of years ago I lost my cell phone on a walking path (Bedford/Sackville). The female called me that she found it and I got it back.

Apparently I got a good citizen for a change. I gave her a reward without her expecting one.

  4. I was wondering how long that would take.

OB, don’t you know Far West is cool now? Or was it Sun Ice? B.U.M.? No, wait, Columbia! No? Canada Goose! Yes, thats the one. Shame on you for not having the right jacket to keep you warm and dry!

  5. next time, save yourself the trouble and just leave two C notes in a metal tin in a car on a really hot day. I wouldn’t be paying that for any jacket that wasn’t leather…
