So allow me to make my own decisions about it! I’ve tried every gd thing you’ve suggested, and I’m still in pain and miss at least one day a month of work because of it. Now you’ve chosen this current method as another avenue to try, and now I’m in pain daily! I’ve already had the surgery to ensure that I do not get pregnant, and that was 14 yrs ago. I’m not going to change my mind about wanting children, and for christs sake, I’m 40!
I have educated myself on the risks and possible complications that may arise if I were to have the surgery I want (and have wanted for years), so let me make that decision and stop denying me the right to chose what to do about my health and my own body!! —Tired of the Pain and Suffering

Unfortunately, resources are limited and unless it’s pretty severe, they won’t take yo’ uterus out. And even if it IS pretty serious, there’s a shit ton-long waiting period.
Menstrual pain just isn’t a priority when there are women with reproductive system cancers, women with their uteruses literally falling out of their vaginas, uteruses pressing on bladders, causing them to fall, post-menopausal bleeding, etc….
It sucks, but it is what it is.
I know PMS is a pain, but you’re willing to get your uterus hauled out for that? Damn. You should get your doctor to put you on Naproxin – they are big blue horse pills that you only need to take one and you’re good for the day. Elective surgery is dangerous and scary – don’t do it. You could die.
That’s the thing, No Fool. Does OB know how many women out there complain to their docs about menstrual pain? If every one of them were offered the chance to remove their uterus, the wait time would be years upon years.
Leave the surgeries to the women who NEED them (like the women with CANCER or the women who’s bladders are FALLING OUT OF THEIR BODES because their uterus is pressing down on it, or the women who end up with prolapsed uteruses that are falling out of their vaginas because of complications of childbirth). The wait time is long enough for these women.
Oh and if every doctor let the patient decide what’s best for them because “it’s their body,” we’d have an awful lot of prescription drug addicts out there. These decisions are made by trained medical doctors for a reason, OB.
start fucking guys that had a vasectomy then. and with that in mind, here i is, ready and willing.
so i’m guessing you’ve had your tubes tied ob. if you’re healthy enough they can do a hysto vaginally
You’re in Canada… it isn’t your body. I hate to break it to you. If you want to make choices about your body from a healthcare perspective, you’ll have to go the USA.
how goes the power walking d’mouth?
Daily pain sounds like more than your standard PMS … it could be endometriosis, I don’t know. OP, if you haven’t already, maybe you should try a second opinion. Living with daily pain is one thing, but functioning with it can be a whole other beast … good luck and I hope you can get the treatment you need.
a laparoscopy can be helpful and it’s an outpatient procedure
Look for a new Doctor OP.
As DearRobin points out, & I’d like to make a slight change…see another doctor. But do it as ,looking for a second opinion.
See if you can then refered to a specialist, if its as bad as you say…all you need is 1 Doc to agree.
lol Mr. Sinclair.
Surgery does not guarantee anything OP. I know, easy for me to say I’m not dealing with the pain. Have you seen a specialist? Or are you talking about the specialist? Yes it is your body. I guess you’re going to have to carry the ball, the docs have more patients than they can keep track of and you’re just one of them.
I agree with persevere. I just got diagnosed with endometriosis and to me this sounds an awful lot like what the op may be referring to. Of course it’s fresh on my mind right now, so that could have something to do with my thought process on this bitch. My pain isn’t severe enough to get a hysterectomy, but from my understanding, that would pretty much get rid of all the pain, and also from my understanding, and the sometimes pain I do get, I could understand why someone would want to do whatever risky procedure they could to stop the pain.
