Halifax is awesome. Haligonians (well some) are mostly shit. Apathetic behaviour is like an after school activity in this town. And why do you all get so angry at each other for driving around the city just like everybody else. Foolishness. You actually have laws that force you to stop for pedestrians to cross the street because you haven’t got enough sense to do it just make sure someone gets to where they are going safely. You have to be forced to be kind. How sad is that? And what’s with the shitty attitude towards people who come here from other provinces. What? Not enough stories of how my life sucks and will always suck. Ive never met so many people that get off on sadness and tales of woe. Brighten up and lighten up Haligonians. You’re city is awesome and the province too. Wicked pubs and music and endless things to do for fun and relaxation. Life is good on the east coast, but you have to have a job, optimism and a sense of comraderie with your fellow man. Be good to each other yo !!! —Jaayyyzusss kkkkrriisstt

  1. haligonians are no worse and no more apathetic than anyone else anywhere. and every place has traffic laws to enforce ‘kindness’.

if anything, people here are still a bit nicer than Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto. despite the recurring subjects on the LTWWB.

  2. Welcome to Hipsterfax, Fucko!!! Now immerse yourself in the culture of defeat. Get yourself some skinny jeans, lots of bad plaid, a man purse, a super nintendo, a Vista-Cruiser with no brakes, and let mediocrity envelope your out of town ass.

  3. I’m very nice to out-of-provincers until they come here and demand that the havoc that their provinces have wrought upon Nova Scotia not apply to them in particular. And how “backward” we are.

Then, dear, we have a problem.

Otherwise, do what you do. If you’re getting treated badly, I’m sorry. But if packs of stereotypes aren’t living up to your stereotype of the east coast, then YOU… have a problem.

  4. They say that first impressions are the most lasting…and my first weekend here in Halifax i asked a lady at about 1pm how to get to a certain place with this line” excuse me ma’am can you tell me how to get to (cant remember restaurant now its gone) to which she replied go fuck yourself you fucking animal….hmmm clean cut, polite and nicely dressed young male and thats the definition of fucking animal….let me tell you, ive made a wrong turn or two into new york areas like brooklyn, the bronx and tonawanda and were all told politely to leave quickly before anything bad happens or escorted out by the locals in the case of the bronx and brooklyn…nicest folks ive ever met abroad(other than europe) yet here…you get some of the most boorish, loutish behaviour….definitely not something id ever seen growing up in big cities all through ontario and the western provinces. Even in whitehorse they were polite(although perpetually drunk) so just goes to show you what people observe, and then take back to wherever they go back to. like i said, first impressions….

  5. lol cuja! you must have hit Whitehorse during the long dark winter. alcohol keeps the blood warm. or maybe it was during the short, sweet summer, when alcohol fuels the manic musical beds game.

  6. it was indeed the coldest part of the winter, for an extreme winter conditioning program, -63 and a windchill of almost -80…my old sargeant said, sucks having 4 inches of clothing and only 3 inches of dick in that weather lol…we werent even allowed to have listerine or aftershave or anything with a propellant like hairspray) but they were drunk almost constantly and they were still super polite and never beligerent.

  7. But how backwards we are is what makes us! That’s what we’re famous for. I mean I’ve travelled and I still do.. Every summer. I honestly haven’t seen any of the rudeness that anyone here talks about when it comes to Vancouver or Toronto or any other place in or out of Canada! I mainly saw it here and never actually realized it until I started touring the world. I mean yes there’s the good and the bad everywhere but to be honest, I noticed there’s more disrespect here than there is respect. There’s more rudeness than there is friendliness!
