did you know… “that” is the most over-used word in the English language? Most often you may remove the word “that” completely from a sentence and, without rearrangement, the sentence reads just as well.
As to the subject of the bitch, we all feel your pain. It’s right up there with learning Santa Clause isn’t real. Disappointing, no doubt.
I like this as a poem, it’s similar to a William Carlos Williams, except for the smiley face, that’s more e.e. cummings.

I was thinking that by using the word that is simply putting emphasis into an emotional sentence. Its deletion would have made the sentence dry.
