To all the new and old bus users of the number 18:
You should all learn to read the yellow triangle stickers on the bus windows that say “please yield seats to the elderly”. I am so sick and tired of watching an elderly person slowly get on the bus and look around to see if there’s an empty seat up at the front.
You six fucking pricks who sit there and look dumbly at each other while not moving really pisses me off. You should have some respect and get your asses up and free up a seat. For all you know, that could be your grandmother or grandfather. Wouldn’t you like to know that some nice young person vacated their seat so they can sit down in comfort?
I don’t want to generalize in saying that it’s just young people, but taking the number 18 every day, I notice the same six or so students (and I know you’re FIRST YEAR students) sitting there. Every day.
It doesn’t hurt to get up and give your seat to someone who needs it. Didn’t your parents teach you to be courteous? Well, this qualifies as being courteous. —My parents did a good job raising me 🙂

I am a young male and will not sit in the back, I do not want to get stabbed or shot.
C’mon now be fair to the kids. They went through the Nova Scotia education system – they don’t know how to read.
School has only been in session for one week so lighten the fuck up! Hope your wide load moved so the old folks could take a shit, er I mean take a sit.
Damn Jiggy.
The op has a point… What is all of your problems? It is so rude watching able bodied people stay seated in the courtesy seats when someone who really needs to sit down has to stand.
not dead o.p., just taking a very long detour someplace.
Another fake bitch. How do I know? A common theme here at LTWWB. Loutish, ill-mannered, entitled, university students supposedly ruining this town.
The question is, who here has it in for young people pursuing higher education?
There is an “element” that detracts from the quality of life here, but it ain’t the college kids.
Yeah, post-secondary students today are nothing more than a bunch of crack-smoking swindlers.
Chivalry’s not dead; it’s just comatose after being swarmed. Pull the plug and harvest the organs.
Dibs on the liver.
Does it say “Elderly”? Does it really?
I’m sure the 30yo vet with the shot up hip/back (eg) appreciates the death-stares. If you need a seat, ask for it.
Sick and tired of people being sooooooo offended on some other persons behalf.
Jiggy, you need some behavioral meds to calm that craziness down. I feel like for every time I see someone sitting in those seats that shouldn’t be there, I also see people getting up and offering their seats. Mind you, I don’t travel at rush times, ever… Maybe next time, just mention it to those same kids next time you walk by if you’re so concerned about it.
Don’t seniors have their own private bus……access a bus?
The answer to this is obvious. Look at the young brats monopolizing the seats and say, “HEY! Give that person a SEAT!” I do that all the time, and people are so surprised that someone’s actually SAYING something, that they do actually give up their seat for someone who NEEDS it.
((As for the student thing, well, 99 percent of the young people in this town ARE students, so I don’t think it’s a hate on for “students,” so much as entitled, spoiled kids who just HAPPEN to be in university…))
You’re all a bunch of fucking douches…… and no, i am not the OP.
stick it to em jonno…
Did I miss something? Why you so mad Jonno??
we had a fairly intense chat on the way home with a colleague and ‘random bus lady # 4″ (to give her the appropriate credit) about bus etiquette yesterday…
I think he still has some pent up rage.
LMAO. I’m glad I drive alone. I mean it would be great to take the bus but I have a little guy to drop at daycare and a 40 minutes commute.
