This country seems to be overrun with coffee snobs who look down on the very idea of drinking instant. I can’t even bring my goddamn mini jar of instant coffee to work without getting pained expressions from all the people hanging around the friggin percolator for their all-organic free trade coffee. Nothing wrong with the fancy “real thing” but there’s nothing wrong with instant either. These people seem to think that the Europeans would be poo-pooing the instant stuff but I’ve lived all over the UK and Madrid and everyone drinks the stuff at home and work… a real coffee is a treat you give yourself once in a while but everyone enjoys a fresh cup of the instant (particularly the stuff that starts with an N… don’t want to be sounding like I’m being sponsored here). So, in closing, while I get back to enjoying my instant, get over yourselves, you wannabes. —Someone is full of shit and it isn’t my instant coffee

Although on Saturday I got a Sausage Mcmuffin, a hash brown & a black coffee from the golden M place…the coffee isn’t all that bad, much better than that T place IMO.
i find that if i drink instant, i go potty 10 times to 1 cup. whereas with perked, it takes a very long time to go thru my system. and perked tastes better too.
Mickey’s coffee is far better than that toxic sludge TH brews every twenty minutes. They must strain it through a used diaper or something.
The coffee they serve at starbucks is AWFUL, TTFN! It’s bitter as fuck! I like their teas (you can’t beat their passion tea!) and lattes and fraps, but their coffee can bite my ass.
Second cup makes a much better cup of coffee and a better latte too!
I dunno, I don’t drink coffee much, so as a non-aficionado, I really enjoy a cup of good coffee, french pressed, over anything else I’ve ever had a sip of. Instant stuff just doesn’t taste nice. But I don’t “need” a caffeine fix so it’s not like “gimme a coffee, I’m not fussy”, it’s more like “sure, it’s a cold morning at home, I’ll brew something really good and enjoy it”.
Tea is my drink of choice – and I’ll go for loose leaf herbal (or other blends, I do like green and black and rooibois too) any day vs. a cup of red rose.

I never liked instant until I got some Starbucks instant trial sizes for Christmas. THAT is some good shit! Maxwell House, Nescafe, i.e. regular store brands are complete fuckin shit as far as I am concerned. They taste really gross. That is my taste buds talking, not my need to be seen toting a pentiventi…
Some Starbucks is OK, other brews suck; I like the dark ones. Second Cup as well. I can’t drink Tim’s cuz they put something in it so sucks to be them. Just sayin!! I can’t deny some people drink the white and green because of the label, oh well, sucks to be them when their friends buy a Merc. How can we keep up with THAT??

I once drank a Starbucks iced coffee down in the States. It tasted like caffeinated pig poop and harbour sludge mixed with a dash of seagull vomit on ice. Never again.

I used to drink it when I was a single gal back in the 70s – any of you guys remember Tasters Choice with ‘chicory’? I drank that stuff by the vat, with a couple of spoonfuls of Coffeemate drywall powder each fucking time. Mmmmm – mmmmm – that’d still top TH and Starfucks.

it’s true,in the uk and europe,instant coffee is the norm,even in restaurants,if you want a fresh brew,it will cost you a lot!but here,it seems that the coffee snobs are the majority…but,they actually are clueless to what a “GOOD” cup of coffee is,based on the fact that tim horton’s is number 1 in canada and it is truly the worst tasting coffee on the market….bland,thick and syrupy,if i cannot drink it black,then it’s a bad cup!
