Is it just me or have the stereotypical ditzy, popular girls been replaced by indie/scene girls? They’re exactly the same, only the uniform has changed. Think about it.

I would have to agree with you. My job forces me to watch over hordes of drunken university students until the wee hours of the morn. This being FROSH WEEK (oh joy) I was able to view the new crop of our cities finest barff and piss in our downtown streets. One thing is different though…tube tops and too tight booty shorts have been replaced with jeans and hoodies. Have we turned a corner? Has being a skank become not cool? One can only hope…but being a self proclaimed Indie Chick for years I feel violated. Maybe its time to throw in the towel and just accept that I am getting old.
Indie girls are ‘different’…just like all of their friends. I find it hilarious when a new trend emerges and everyone thinks their being such an individual.
I dunno…would I rather an army of stilleto skanks or a horde of skinny-jean and chuck wearing androgenous looking girls, with oddly dyed hair that looks like they cut it with a chainsaw (ends oh-so-alternatively cut in different lengths and directions)? hmmm that’s a toughy.although I agree ‘Indie’ has become the new majority trend (just wait till it gives way to emo…shudder…), skank-itude is still going strong. just go down and watch the girls parading into the do-me any evening in dresses so short and tight they reveal their crotchless thongs (and make me ponder what, exactly, is the point of wearing them at all for all the underwear-good they do).
