To the complete idiot working last night who was calling out the patients to move them from the general waiting room, to another waiting area right outside of the Emergency rooms.
You suck at your job!!!!!!
You called my mothers name with 4 other people, and all but sprinted down the hall to deposit the patients to the hall waiting area (to wait a few more hours). We were so far behind you, that the security guard have to let us in the sliding door with his pass and show us where to go. As I saw the back of you go into a room, you never once looked back.
Please forgive my mother, who had broken her shoulder in 3 places for not jogging to catch up to you. SLOW DOWN you idiot.
It’s an emergency room, I get that, buy they are sick and injured patients. Do YOU get that?
So, because of her tardiness, you mark her as having left the hospital. Did you double check? NO!
So, a 72 yr old woman sat for hours unattended by anyone in extreme pain due to your negligence and incompetence.

This is terrible, OB! I hope you found out who this person was and reported the incident to their supervisor.
Not like anything would happen because of a complaint (one definite downside to unions — they protect the shitty employees), but a mark on their file might work against them when they try to move to another job.
I hope your mother isn’t in too much pain now and on the mend.

My guess is she slipped and fell backwards and instinctively went to try and “catch” herself by trying to put her hand down, and when her hand hit the floor it resulted in the shoulder breaking. Regardless of how it happened, poor woman, hope she gets the help she needs. Shoulder injuries are a bitch. I hyper-extended mine when I was a teenager and it hasn’t been the same since.
Geeze OB … that sucks. Hope your mama is doing okay and didn’t require surgery. And, I do hope you reported it … it probably won’t cost anyone their job, but it might cause them to take pause and think a little more about the patient the next time.
I agree Tommy, shoulder injuries suck. Last winter I slipped on some ice, landed on my shoulder and ended up with a separated AC joint … not fun.

Thanks for the comments, she fell while skating on the Oval – so it broke in 3 places. Thank god for medication, she’s doing better now.

What a disorganized cluster fuck that emergency room sounds like. See, that’s why I refuse to get sick or hurt. Didn’t help to have Usain Bolt moving the patients from one room to another.

Thanks for the advise. I emailed them on Thursday night and got a response mid day Friday that it is being forwarded to the the chief or ER, the Manger and the Nursing Manger to be investigated.
