This is a tough one. I do want to be on the cyclists side, but the phone seems to command my attention as I have one too. Now, it was ignorant for the driver to purposely swerve to run over it, but I do not blame you. I use my phone for cycling App’s but it has never fallen while in transit.
You cannot blame someone for dropping something. Be it change, keys or a cellphone. Accidents happen, you can still point and laugh, but accidents do happen. I remember one time I dropped a Large (the new large, not the old, so it’s slightly worse) Tim’s coffee on the sidewalk. I got laughed at, a comment of concern, and then someone even asked me for change. I listened to the Beatles when I got home and felt alot better about myself.

As far as the bitch goes… It is your responsibility to ensure things are properly stored while in transit. If you wanna half-ass the most expensive piece of equipment in your backpack, expect to lose it/have it run over. Its called RESPONSIBILITY, and its yours, OB.

I turn my Strava app on prior to movement Mr Harper, then turn it off at my destination. This Bitch has made me reconsider keeping it in my pocket at all, I will use my backpack this very afternoon.

As a cyclist I tried to be on the OB’s side. It didn’t work. Now I’m on the phones side, it didn’t deserve to be dropped or almost run over.
Well if the person drives like most people, their eyes are further down the road to see what’s going on. Of course, depending on the speed of the car and the distance from you, I suppose rather than swerve to miss you, they could have gone straight, to avoid your phone and plow into you. Of course if the driver did that, you’d be bitching about the car hitting you. Your dropped phone is not my problem.

You didn’t think and now you’re blaming others for it. Why do you keep a phone in anything but a zippered pocket or your backpack? (if you’re using one) Why would you expect the city to stop on a dime because your retarded phone management caused it to fall?

I’m sure the driver didn’t know what you were waving your arms about immediately. Probably thought something was directly in front of him/her and swerved by instinct. I would say it was not an attempt to crush your phone.
