Saturday July 4th my husband and I decided to take a cruise and whilst driving on Oxford we approached the Quinpol intersection. There is clearly two lanes for both sides of traffic. Both lanes, give you the option to go straight. You can go left in the left lane and right in the right lane or straight in BOTH. We chose the left lane, you, you mean lady, chose the right lane. All fine and dandy until your lane is ending. Clearly there are cars parked on the curb, you will have to merge into the left lane. But god forbid, don’t look, just go! FFS! As my husbands honking the horn like a mad man so you don’t smash the side of our car, you then decide to slow down. We have the right of way, our lane never ended bitch. We continue our journey accross the bridge. Not knowing the whole time your following us, waiting for the opportunity to drive up beside us. It happens, you pull your car right up beside us at a red light. Your well over 50 years old I see now. You roll down your window at yell as loud as you can “before you honk at me, you shouldn’t have went straight in the middle lane.”. At the end of the day lady, you really went out of your way to prove your the idiot. I hope you travel that path again and realize your the idiot!
PS -thanks for the great birthday story! —Younger Bitch

Geez, across the bridge and everything.
Sounds like that older lady was rather nice to you about the honking incident.
Funny how these road rage issues come about when people think they know the rules. Perhaps you need to double check the arrows at the intersection OB, however, I do believe you are right.
If you were really a good driver though, you wouldn’t drive right next to the person who has to merge. Pretty easy to speed up or slow down so they have room.
I avoid that intersection for this exact reason.
Cognitive thinking required which doesn’t bode well with the general public.
also,

I believe that should have been “you shouldn’t have GONE straight in the middle lane.” You missed a teachable moment.
It happens to me EVERY day in Bedford, just past the turn toward Dartmouth (on the Bdfd Hwy going towards Halifax). The right lane ends shortly after the lights and EVERY DAMN DAY, some idiot in the right lane completely ignores the “right lane ending” sign and just sliiiiiides over to the left lane without looking. Drives me fucking crazy.
Lots of assholes pretend that they don’t know the right lane ends with a line of parked cars after 9am even though they drive it every day. Then the assholes try to force their way in instead of sucking it up. The best fun is in the fall.
you’re
you’re
you’re
You’re welcome.
Actually, YOU’RE wrong!
Ah, the irony of being right and wrong at the same time. “You’re” welcome.
It’s a paradox.
Indeed.
http://scenicdakotas.com/southdakota/platt…
But is the paradox resolvable? How can we survive, how can we carry on, in state of unresolved paradoxicality?
Clearly, the answer is beer, monsieur.
Yes, beer. That would be it. Beer.
*shudder….
I hesitantly agree.
From the NS Motor Vehicle Act:
Rule for lane merge
111A (1) Where two lanes of a street or highway merge into one lane,
the driver of a vehicle in the left lane shall yield the right of way to a vehicle in the
right lane unless the driver of the vehicle in the right lane is directed by a sign to
yield to the vehicle in the left lane.
You’re wrong OP, please feel free shred your husband’s license. Not only can he clearly not follow the rules of the road, he feels the need to honk the horn at someone who is clearly in the right, while he’s in the wrong. It doesn’t get much more ignorant than that.
Have a nice day! 😉
uh, … there’s no
http://www.ct.gov/dot/lib/dot/Images%5Cire…
stating to merge.
They’re still two lanes, but one’s being blocked by ANNOYING AS FUCK street parking.
Annoyeddrive gets it wrong…back to drivers Ed for you
Actually there isn’t two lanes. I’m aware that right now none of the lines are as visible as they should be, but here’s a view from Google Streetview showing very clearly that the two lanes merge into one beside Petro Can. The white dotted line showing two lanes very clearly stops, which indicates there is no longer two lanes in that direction, but only one (a lane wide enough to park in while vehicles drive past, but still one lane) So how about YOU step right back to driver’s ed? 😛 https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.644786,-63.…
Gotta love NS drivers!
