So here’s to the asshole guy in the crosswalk on South Park and Spring Garden the other day: Yes, I have a right to turn. Yes, I know I’m in a car. This apparently makes me an evil motorist or something , clearly, a state of affairs you tried to prove with your glare and WTF hand gesture as I said waiting to make my turn as you walked across the street.
I wasn’t IN the crosswalk. I wasn’t impeding your motion in any way at all. I was simply waiting for you to finish so I could turn safely, on a green light, instead of rushing through on the yellow as happens so often where there aren’t protected turning signals.
You SLOWING DOWN to glare at me, almost coming to a full stop, ISN’T HELPING. It’s in fact putting all of us in DANGER, as you took your annoying slow time across teh cross walk.
It’s your right to use it; I’m ok waiting for you to cross. but when you STOP in the middle to give me dirty looks, making me sit in the middle of traffic even longer, that’s when I get annoyed!

I could be inclined to agree with you if I hadn’t in the past nearly been killed a good dozen times by some idiot making a turn. When a pedestrian is IN A CROSSWALK with a WALK SIGN, they have priority over your turn, and I am sick and tired of playing chicken with these assholes that try and swerve out before I can step across! I have certainly done my fair share of glaring and pointing, because I am RIGHT! I doubt you were fully stopped, probably inching closer. Also, could you please explain, how, a car STOPPED and waiting for a pedestrian (with the right of way) to walk across the street (in an assumed intersection with lights and crosswalks) is in ANY way dangerous? I’m curious. Old people and people with physical handicaps have to cross the street, and surely they are not moving at lightening speed, so should we recommend they not be able to cross because it is “dangerous”? Because this what your logic implies …
There is nothing more annoying than stopping for a ped who thinks it’s their right to take as much time to cross (even though it is). If you’re a healthy person, Why not walk at a decent pace? I just have to laugh at young people who stroll across the street like they are displaying some new fashion or we’re all so stunned by their beauty that we don’t mind having to wait twice as long as we should.Nothing new, really, The world is full of ignorant pricks!
Fucking idiot police must have been at it over the weekend in Cape Breton, too. I know of 2 high-speed chases in CBRM that “went bad” and ended up causing high-speed rollovers. I mean, I know the person being chased should have stopped, but really…..the police are putting EVERYBODY at risk when they partake in these high-speed chases of suspects.

Simply put, 50% of the population are assholes. Wether walking, driving, or serving your coffee. If peds are going to take their good time crossing just to be assholes, then they shouldn’t get upset when drivers turn in front of them because they are walking too slow. When I walk, I watch for cars, and do my best to STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY, regardless of who has the right of way. And when I am driving, I watch for pedestrians and try to NOT RUN ANY OVER, regardless of who has the right of way. Who wants to kill a person with, or be killed by, a car? I think it may be safe to say that not only are half the population assholes, but they’re stupid too.
100% of people are at least sometimes
