Driving down the left lane of the road. Running a red light after having stopped 5 seconds for it. Going the wrong way at the roundabout. Turning so slowly that I think that it’s the wind pushing the car forward instead of the engine. Blocking the intersection of a 4-lane road for no apparent reason. Stopping in the middle of the road. Blowing through a red light and forcing pedestrians to flee for their lives. Stopping infront of my car, letting in car after car while there is NO ONE behind me. Cars parked, blocking driveways. Cars suddenly stopping at GREEN lights.
Where did I notice all this? Was it on that show “Canada’s Worst Drivers”? No… it was my morning commute in Halifax today. People are stupid enough in this city when it’s nice weather out. 1 fucking drop of rain falls and all intelligence and common sense flies out the window. I think over 80% of this city needs to take a basic driving course. Not only do they drive excessively slow for an “urban” area, they drive like bleeding idiots!

All of these things happened on ONE commute to work this morning?
Short answer: Ive done rush hour in both Montreal and Toronto. My main source of stress was not knowing where I was going, exactly. Drivers are definitely more aggressive but nothing I couldn’t handle.

Now, I AM from PEI originally which opens a whole other door of backwards living (but that’s another post), but at least the worst things we had to avoid on our roads were slow moving farm machinery, the odd, random, errant potato, pre-occupied skunks and all those bloody G-D CFA’s in the summer.

HRM is full of fuckheads, and it is a full moon today.
Why is it that some people make their turns so painfully slow? Often the same ones who don’t signal that they’re making the turn to begin with. There’s a lot of them in the boonies. You follow them for a couple of kms @40kph in an 80 kph zone then they slow down and make an excruciatingly gradual turn into a parking lot without signalling. Not that I find that really annoying.
