This to the fidiot that doesn’t know how to cross a street. April 26th, 3:00pm on Barrington. WTF is wrong with you yelling at a driver that had the right-of-way while you were in the middle of the street. Try a crosswalk you dipshit. Or at least if you are going to jaywalk, wait for a clearing. If you want to become road kill…keep it up.

just another example of a pompous, self-righteous ignorant pedestrian. im all for pedestrian safety, but if youre going to be strolling across the road outside of a designated crosswalk,(or implied crosswalk at unmarked intersections) dont expect smiles from drivers.
as a pedestrian its important to think all drivers are dummies, yackin on cellphones and pickin cigarettes off the floorboards. in other words…that they arent paying attention. note to pedestrians: dont cross till you see the whites of their eyes.
agreed
The impetus is on the pedestrian when crossing the road where there is no marked crossing. These people also drive me nutso. It’s like they have the privilege and right to cross the tarmac wherever they see fit. I say to them, let the Darwinian Awards prevail, power to the stronger gene pool.
Yeah this just happened to me on the drive home… Driving on Robie by the hosptial. A family of four was crossing the road literally 5 meters from an actual cross walk with flashing lights. How lazy and stupid can you get?
AK…. trust me. people can get VERY lazy and stoopid.
Ooh ooh, can I throw in my 2 cents!? When you exit a bus, do not cross so close to the front of the bus that you could lick the window. Remember back in school when the school bus had that extendable arm to try and get kids to not be dumbasses? I can count many a close call because someone figured drivers can see through buses. The same drivers that would step over their own mother to pass said bus.
The more you know…
Some people have a sense of entitlement that defies all logic. Guess that’s what we boomers get for telling our kids how special and unique they are.
OP: was it at an intersection? if so, then the pedestrian had the right of way. any intersection has a crosswalk, curb to curb, even when not marked.
Pedestrians should be allowed to cross the street wherever they want. …but drivers should not be required to avoid making them into hood ornaments if they are not at a crosswalk or intersection.
Can someone let me know if the law agrees with me? The other possibility is that pedestrians have free reign…but that would be stupid.
Judge if you can cross safely and take responsibility for your decision, or get your ass to a designated crossing spot.
I would have to disagree with that for one reason no dogma. Take an area that there are two lanes going in the same direction. The pedestrian crosses, the car in the first lane stops, however, the car coming in the second lane doesn’t see the pedestrian crossing in front of the already stopped car. Car assumes he has the right away, so isn’t watching for pedestrians, pedestrian assumes that because one car is stopping, he/she is safe to cross….nuf said…lol
oops, misread, I vote get your ass to an intersection, but with shades of grey in between…if that makes sense…
It might be good to judge playing Frogger in the situation you describe as not worth it. 😉
I like to think that although rare I bring some good points to the table…even if I don’t properly read the comments I’m commenting on:)
maybe the fidiot wants to have tire tracks on his body; pity none of the impolite drivers from outside halifax would oblige.
then again, what’s the challenge in that for those drivers? there’s more sadistic joy in ploughing over cyclists to the curbside, and brushing off pedestrains who cautiously wait till the crossing beacon lights up.
Iwonder if this was north or south end barrington?
South end and he’s a fucking moron, considering there are crosswalks every half block.
