So I’m taking a shortcut despite danger keep out tape, decide to turn back, slip, hear something snap, think, that’s not good, find I can’t stand. Alone. Start to call out for help. A couple of women parking cars come to my aid, as do some nearby workmen. In particular I thank Catherine who insisted on calling an ambulance and waited until it came, and the man who eventually got word to my son. I was a wittering idiot, only concerned that I would get a parking ticket. Everyone who helped me from the passersby to the medical personnel was so kind. End of story: I did break a bone, and I didn’t get a ticket.
