Fuck off to the guy in the red shirt that I gave $2 to for the “ferry”. You said you needed to get home to pick up your kid or some shit. I doubt you have a kid, and if you do I feel sorry for the thing because it has a shitty dad. I saw you about 20 minutes, later, not on the ferry to get your kid but harrassing some other busker for his money. Looks like he was smart and denied you, but you swore at him.

I played for 3 hours in the hot sun for my measly 15 bucks. It’s not that I miss the two bucks, but if you had actually needed some money I probably would have given it to you, but instead you lowered my trust of strangers yet another notch. I knew you weren’t getting on the ferry because you didn’t even know the correct fare. I TOLD you I didn’t trust giving money to people. Fuck you and your lies. Fuck. —Baritone

  1. After all the bitches here and other places, people are still giving money to these bums. He had to get on the ferry then give him the ticket or put the money in as he goes through.

Oh well, a fool and his money is soon parted.

  2. These nuts never use the money for what they say they need it for. Thus I never give anyone a cent. The bums that ask you for smokes straight up are the most honest of the bunch.

  3. It’s ok. You gave money out of the kindness, what he does with it after is up to him. Be happy you have a heart.

  4. People, stop giving money to crackheads! You’re only encouraging them to never get their life together and live off handouts.

  5. “It’s ok. You gave money out of the kindness, what he does with it after is up to him. Be happy you have a heart.”

    You’re dumb.

  6. I once gave money to a guy who basically said he was asking me nicely although he could hurt me if he wanted to. (He didn’t say it that way, but that’s what I understood.) It was dark, and I was alone in a large parking lot. I don’t think I had any choice. I’d rather lose a couple of bucks than my life.

  7. part with your toonie or don’t. Leave the judging to those who are qualfied and park your expectations at the door. Only then will you know philanthropy and be able to show pride from such generosity rather than ugly bitching like this.

  8. kay, if Alberta’s so wonderful, how come since I’ve moved to Edmonton there’s been a dude who’s blown up half a neighbourhood to kill his girlfriend, a woman shot in the head at an LRT station just for asking a guy for a smoke, a pizza shop owner murdered, about a dozen stabbings in the Churchill Square / Milner Library / City Centre area, a guy dragged 20 blocks to death by a truck that didn’t even stop after he hit him, etc.? Why is Edmonton so run-down in so many different parts and why are there still so many homeless people and drug addicts? Ever take a walk along 112 Ave, 118 Ave, Chinatown area, etc? Fucking dumps worse than anything in Halifax! Heaps of “NIMBYists” here too, so many people are crying about the LRT being expanded into their neighbourhood saying it will bring crime and undesirables – LRT is awesome, piss off! I’m not saying Edmonton’s a horrible place, but it’s sure as fuck no better than Halifax. Not by a long shot.

And OK, Calgary’s a bit nicer than Edmonton, but the Eskimo’s and gonna kick some ass and the Oilers are coming back this season, baby! City of Champions once again, but they really need to get that off their “Welcome to Edmonton” signs, though.

  9. Edmonton is an awful place to live, always has been… unless you work in gov’t. Calgary used to be wonderful and beautiful but now it’s too big to be either of those things. What’s really great about AB is no retail sales tax, properly planned urban sprawl and proximity to BC bud. What does any of this have to do with the bitch, q?

  10. A busker criticizing a panhandler? You do realize that is somewhat akin to the operators of a meth lab bitching about crack whores lowering the tone of their neighborhood.

  11. Ivan, there’s a big difference between a panhandler and busker. If you can’t see that, you’re a fucking moron and we can’t help you.

  12. There is. It’s called a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Lashings of appy-polly-logies for failing to realize that what the world really needs now is yet another whiny, adenoidal, 2-chord version of “Another Needle and the Damage Done”

  13. @Nice Goin’ Fat – Obviously it bothered the poster enough for them to come on here and write about it. There is no sense in the person going home and carrying this with them, theoretically whipping themselves because they gave some undeserving (for whatever reason) person $2. Yes, I know that in order to rectify the panhandler situation no money should be given to them and they’d be forced to find other means etc. But the action was done, the money was given, I wasn’t judging simply trying to say that the poster should take the blame off of themelves and realize that what they did was in their mind a good thing (at the time) and what the panhandler chooses to do after the fact is up to them. That part the poster cannot control, and now know not to give money.

I’m not saying the poster was philanthropic, merely kind, you nincompoop.

  14. yeah if I here one more busker rendition of ” heart of gold ” on the street ; I’ma gonna go all john belushi on their geeetar 🙂

  15. The gist of this post seems to be that the $2 was obtained under false pretenses. Who cares what the guy did with the money? He apparently lied in order to get it.

  16. I know the guy. He’s got a threatening demeanour that he uses to extort money. He has all kinds of lines: the ferry one, “I just need a toonie for some gas – my car just ran out”… He’ll follow you and continue pleading, too. I’ve seen him on SGR a few times, but more often by Scotia Square and the waterfront.

  17. Ipod headphones in – check. Dark glasses on – Check. Walk by and ignore = the only solution. I was called a bitch the other day for ignoring some chick sitting ont he sidewalk. Whatever girlie, I’ve been working since I was 14 so I wouldn’t end up looking like you, I can be a bitch all I want.

  18. Absolutely nothing to do with the Bitch, just thought I’d ask while we were both here!
