I moved in because I loved you. I wanted to help you in any way I could. You show your “appreciation” and “love” towards me with lies, cheating, and daily humiliation. I didnt deserve to be treated like that. You’re a hypocrite and you don’t realize it. I won’t be there when you get back from your trip, btw. —your miserable embarrasment

  1. THE UNCONSCIOUS HYPOCRITE

“You’re a hypocrite and you don’t realize it.” your miserable embarrasment (sic)

“Hypocrite, n. a person guilty of hypocrisy; dissembler, pretender.” The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English

How is it possible for one to be a hypocrite and not to realize it? Where being a hypocrite necessarily entails conscious dissembling and pretending, it can only be that being a hypocrite and not realizing it one must be unconscious of being a hypocrite. One is just unaware of the fact that one one is a hypocrite. But – and this is important – if the hypocrite is unaware of his own hypocrisy, can he then still be called a “hypocrite” without self-contradiction? Write back soon.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!
