The other day I went to downtown Halisux. I was asked to look at a building and give a friend a quote to help them fix a problem, or advice on how to proceed. Seeing as it was a Saturday, I figured ‘weekend’, it’ll be ok. MAN was I wrong! Trying to find parking on the Halifax waterfront was NUCKING FUTS! There was a huge parking lot down there empty! Why? Because someone has decided to make it into ‘beach volleyball’ courts complete with hundreds of tons of sand! Yep, they are creating huge kitty litter boxes right in the downtown area and taking up hundreds of parking spaces to do it. Imagine the wonderful feeling of walking barefoot through the litter boxes, the smell of cat urine, the small sand encrusted treasures the cats will leave behind! Not to mention the doggie surprises. After all, it’s not like we have any beaches here in Nova Scotia, so the obvious solution is to make one. Plus anyone will tell you if there’s one thing Halifax doesn’t need is more parking… But I do wonder, where all the folks using the volley boxes are going to park? —More

  1. Uhh, no wonder this city is so backwards. You can’t do a single thing without someone making a fuss! Particularly someone(s) who don’t even live in or enjoy the city anyway. Can we de-amalgamate?

  2. Wasn’t a condo development or office building going on that location? When did it turn into a sandpit? Enjoy the cat piss and dog shit.

  3. i was flicking around the channels looking for the tour and lo and behold women’s beach volleyball. i’m thinking the camera people get into fisticuffs over who gets to film those tight butts^^

  4. They are building something there Sebastian, but they thought they’d make it a usable space rather than an eyesore for the time being… but apparently that pisses people off too.

  5. no, the cat bylaw is history, as is the chicken one. they are working on the new ones for 2012 now, like the one where you can’t shoot the zombie neighbors, or the one where you can ny shoot mormen, but only on saturday, while sticking their foot in the door.
then their is a neat one, about not hanging a mayor with a wooden leg, they want you to use a nylon type rope now. but the best one by far, the law that forbids ordinary citizens, from throwing out a mayor and the whole council, and hiring trained seals.
