Why is it that i am always seeing Halifax Police cars flying down the circ?? Im travelling at 80KM/H on the dot so i do not receive a ticket and they pass me like im stopped!! This evening i sped up behind one, matching its speed.. 104km/h!!!!! then it starts to pull away from me! Why do i have to obey the laws and signs when they get to drive like a retard, never using singnal lights or anything!

—Can i see your license and registration please,,, Oh yea FUCK YOU

  1. If I’m not mistaken, marked police cars are allowed to exceed the limit if their lights are on… if not, they may be on the way to a call, and about to turn the lights on.

  2. Further their vehicles all have GPS and have a “black box”, so If they’re fartin around out there, their superiors are aware. Often times emergency equipment is not used as to not alert criminals committing crimes in progress.

  3. One flew by us tonight on the highway to eastern passage near exit 7E. They were going 90 and we were going 80. They went up the exit before us and were speeding the entire time. No lights, nothing, no even when they got off the ramp.

  4. What gets me is the number of police traps that are out there…the ones that get to me the most are cops on bicycles (non-motor, 2 wheels) in the middle of snowstorms handing out tickets for inconsequential. As I don’t drive, I have been tempted to stand there with a sign saying reduce speed or don’t turn in, etc. I used to think there was no such thing as quotas. Now, I definitely believe there is.

  5. Most mornings when it isn’t stormy you will find a platoon of HRM Police with both bicycles and police cars at the corner of Woodland and Slayter, trolling for easy tickets from people who make a left turn onto Slayter between 7AM and 9AM. The sign is damn near invisible and the rationale is shaky at best. But hey, it’s easy money.

  6. LOL. Keep your video camera in the car. I had a picture of a HRM cop car with a broken tail light. When I got pulled over on the circ for going 95km/hr, I pulled out the camera and showed the officer the picture and said “before we process my ticket, I’d like to have a ticket issued against this driver.” He let me go with a warning. I still have the picture on my camera.
