Ok, I watch NHL hockey in HD. It’s pretty much the only reason why I shell out all of those pretty pennies every month for cable service. This is fine. But what is not fine is that for the past number of months, TSN HD has been blacking out the top inch or so of the feed (above the score and time clock) during NHL games. WHY?! There is no other network that does this and it’s super annoying. My only guess is that they are going to be introducing some kind of ad space and/or ticker-style news updates up above the play. It’s the broadcast, not the settings on my TV. Every other channel is fine and so was TSN up to a couple of months ago.
make a “go habs go!” banner the exact length of the television then put it on for the game and take it off when its done, be better to look at than the blankness anyway. Other creative ideas can be sent in on a postcard.

OP, have you tried contacting your cable provider or TSN and asking what that black bar is? They might plan on using it to scroll game results from other sports. How big is the TV?
As if the ads during the game weren’t enough. I watch the game 10 minutes late so that I can FFWD through the ads and turn the volume off so that I don’t have to hear Pierre M exclaim how awesome it was when the goalie took off his helmet and sipped water. THAT is why HE IS A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
