You knew I didn’t want them. I told you on our very first date six years ago. A few times in these past six years, you brought up wanting to have them and every time I said no. I thought you accepted this because even after the most recent reminder of where I stand, you proposed to me.

Was I ever fucking wrong. When I told you I was going to get my tubes tied you were devastated. Then the wanting kids bullshit came through again. Now we’re no longer engaged, we’re not even a couple anymore. You ended it with me and told me you need (NEED to? Really?) to have kids and I wasn’t the right woman for you if I didn’t want them. Did you think I was going to change my mind? How many fucking times does one have to say they don’t want stupid rugrats for you to get it? You should have ended it with me a long time ago if the anti-child thing was such a fucking deal-breaker.

Now you’re with some chick who does want kids. Fine, if you think your genes are so important that you must pass them on, go off with your ideal baby-crazy mate. You can raise them in poverty together (you two can barely support yourselves, let alone a fucking baby!). Meanwhile, I will find happiness with a no-child-having-no-child-wanting man and FUR-babies (pets are sooooo much better than kids!). Have a nice life, asshole. —Will Never Be a Mommy

  1. good choice im with you. Everyone seems to think that EVERYONE wants kids and everyone will eventually change their mind when the “grow up”. Pets are wayyyy better than kids

  2. Sounds like he loved you so much he hoped it would change. People change their minds over the years on a variety of topics, so he clearly just had hope.

I broke up with a guy who didnt want kids, it took me a very very long time to get over him (I’m talking 6 solid months of lying on the couch after work every day and bawling my eyes out) but I know I want them and to not have the OPTION was the worst part.

You will both be better off in the end, getting what makes you happy. Don’t be mad that he DOES want what he wants, because you want what you want too.

  3. Sounds like he thought you would change your mind and you didn’t, I’m sure he loved you but I guess him wanting kids was more important. I see no need to call him an asshole or go all bendy, move on like he did. There are more than enough people out there who have kids that don’t really want them or can handle it so at least you saved a child from that.

  4. This is too bad. It sounds like this may have been one of the only issues between you two, him wanting kids and you against the idea of having any. You’re right tho, he probably had a super romantic view of the relationship, one in which you would eventually bear his children, which was wrong and he should have known better.

Some people really do feel the need to have kids, just as strongly as you feel the need to NOT have them. Don’t judge the ol’ dog based on that. Also, people change. After having kids he may realize that he doesn’t want any. And maybe down the road for you, you may discover a slight want for children yourself, although you’ll probably stomp that emotion deep down and stubbornly lock it away.

  5. Good for you OP! Your former should have been a bit more honest up front and ended the relationship earlier. That’s a huge issue between a couple if one wants kids and the other doesn’t. The captain is right, he may have a very romanticized idea of having children. If not, the right decision was made by the two of you.
    Best of luck.

  6. If you don’t want kids and are taking the steps to prevent it then good for you. But I don’t get why your pissed at him for having hopes you change your mind. Some people start out not wanting kids then later on change their mind. Just like some do not change their mind. He just waited it out to see if you change your mind. Now you both can move on with your lives.

  7. It’s your responsibility as a woman to pop out as many kids as you can. Don’t forget to be barefoot in the kitchen. Now go make me a sandwich!

  8. OB … I don’t agree with you on “pets are better than kid’s” But I do agree with you on yer wish not to have any. If that is the choice you want. I support you 100% & do not understand why anyone would not …it is your body, your life & you should be allowed to decide.
Your ex-partner didn’t respect your views & is obviously the wrong partner for you. But his wishes while in complete disagreement with you, doesn’t mean they are not important & the only way he can have possibly achieve that is with another .

Hopefully the future it is one of great health & no problems where an adult child would then be a benefit to you. Fortunately in our society there are people who are employed to care for the elderly . Good luck in life , its yer choice & should be respected .

PS get a dog …dogs are better than cats ~;p

  9. When he met you he was ok with not having kids. Now he’s not. What the fuck right do you have bashing his new female just because they want something different out of life than you do?

So he changed his mind? Big fucking deal. I’m sorry you drifted apart but you have no right telling them they’re fucked because they want kids. I’m sure by the time you find someone willing to put up with your nasty temper long term, you won’t have to worry about getting your tubes tied. Because you’ll be old.

  10. More.. exactly. he thought he’d be ok with it. Obviously that changed. People fucking change.

I see a forever alone scenario developing here. NOT because she doesn’t want kids, either.

  11. He should have poked holes in the condoms, knocked you up a few times, then left you to be a bitter single mother. Then he could have found a younger, more attractive woman and just had one child with her. You know, so she didn’t get all gross and fat after having a few. He hopefully wouldn’t pay child support.

  12. I don’t blame you one bit for being pissed off at him. He seems to have strung you along, in hopes you’d change your mind. I think after you still saying you wanted NO KIDS long after the first date, he should have clued in and ended it with you earlier as well. IMO, a child-wanter and a non-child-wanter shouldn’t go legit in the first place.

PS… you’re damn fucking right pets are better than kids!

  13. A relationship between an individual who wants kids and an individual who doesn’t want kids has about as much chance of surviving as a relationship between an atheist and a fundamentalist.

  14. … I can’t be the only only smelling the utter selfishness coming from this bitch … .and it’s not because she doesn’t want children.

  15. OP, I was rejected by several men because I didnt want kids, I am now happily married with a man who is in the same mindset as me, we dont want them for many reasons..
Just keep looking, ‘dont settle’ for someone who’s gonna string you along, I had that for 3 years, its mainly why i left Toronto..
You’ll find your match, I found mine at a christian blind camp..
