Dear dream world, please stop bothering me in my sleep. You bring me nightmares. The kind where I am jealous of other women in my dream. The kind where my love is telling other people he is in love with them. I don’t want these feelings in either realities. For an individual who is sensitive, and cares for her lover like no other, it sucks waking up already sweaty and in tears. —ilovehimilovehimilovehim

  1. lol, Tommy-I can say to Aesop “I dreamed about you last night;” he immediately replies “I’m sorry!” (pre-emptive apology)

OB: maybe it’s your subconscious trying to get your attention….

  2. This works for me, just imagine being surrounded by a white light and ask to be left alone and kept safe while you sleep.

  3. I keep dreaming about getting fired.

    It makes me very anxious.

I’m filled with anxiety these days.

  4. I LOVE DREAM STUFF!!:D

Did you try any lucid dreaming methods OP? A really simple one a friend taught me is flicking a light switch, do this whenever you think of it during the day. In dreams light switches don’t work for the most part, so when you see this you will realize you are dreaming. Also, no worries about the nightmares, I have heard that people who create are prone to having high anxiety dreams. Also depending on what theory you follow, sometimes people in dreams represent aspects of yourself.Maybe keep a journal, both of the days events, and then of the dream, and see if there are any recurring themes or images, and(this sounds weird but it also works) pretend you are describing them to an alien or someone who has no idea what they are. That way you can see what each thing means to you, and see why you are dreaming them. Another factor that can either hinder or help is food 😀 I used to be big on the nacho snacks before bed, and would have ridiculously horrible dreams that would leave me in a bad mood all day, a friend later told me that the opioids in cheese can give you nightmares 🙂 Good Luck OP and Happy Dreaming! ( Chamomile is really good for relaxes and happy dreams too 🙂 )

  5. HOWEVER, I’ve also figured out a way to be conscious that I’m dreaming in some dreams I have, and since it’s only a ‘dream’ I do things I wouldn’t normally do IRL.

    Telling someone off…
    Punching someone in the face…
Taking off all my clothes and chillin’ in the out-of-doors….

    It’s quite a satisfying experience.

  6. I’ve wondered about stuff like that from time to time HK, I never seem to remember my dreams. Very rarely. If I’m not mistaken that changed when I stopped smoking funny cigarettes every day for a bit. I always thought that might have something to do with it.

  7. The last dream I had that I remember:
I was taken hostage by some generic gun-toting guy.
He tossed me the phone to call the authorities for a ransom demand…
and when I couldn’t dial the number quick enough, he shot me twice in the arm.

definitely not the worst dream I’ve had…
but still…. leaves you feeling weird when you wake up.

I do get the whole ‘mad at your for what I dreampt last night’ ….
relationships are weird for that too…. likely because of how vivid it is at the time.

  8. Funny cigs do stop you from dreaming, or at least remembering them. That’s why so many people with post traumatic stress smoke ’em.

  9. lol thanks for that clarification PG. weird dream zZz. If I’m ever in a relationship with someone and they actually get mad at me for something they dream.. they can fuck off to dreamland. I can’t stand childish people, and that fits my definition of childish to a T.

  10. Probably some heterosexual guy who’s engaged having a nightmare that sebastian jumps out of a bachelor party cake and then gets beaten up.

  11. you should be waking up horny, not in tears.dreams are things that let you do whatever you want, that you cannot do, in real life. they are also the precursers of sometimes bad things. if you are dreaming about yourman fucking off on you, then somewhere in real time, you caught a hint to that effect.
dreams are basically an extension of our daily lives, and as such, we have to try and remember as much of them as possible. for from that, we can almost get an idea, of what really occured, to make you dream that dream. as to nitemares, hell, i could write a whole bunch of books, that would scare the shit out of stevie king. some of my dreams are so real, i can still smell the fleash of the female i was bonking even.
everyone will have at least one wet dream, one nitemare, and one very nice dream in their life. dreams are just a tool to help us deal with everyday crisis.

  12. Op, if you blow him on a weekly basis, he will never have thoughts of other women. Just saying…

  13. OP, I was having dreams like this for a few months.
I thought I was going crazy and tried to ignore the dreams.. then two weeks ago I found out that my boyfriend was cheating on me the whole time.

    How weird is that?

I feel like sometimes we lie to ourselves so much that we can’t admit what is happening right in-front of us.

Now, I’m not suggesting that you freak out over your dreams.. but maybe it would help to set 30 minutes aside to think about why you are dreaming of this.

I doubt he’s cheating on you though.
I’m probably like 1 in 100 billion that it actually turned out to be true :[

  14. Yeah lucid dreaming is not a good thing to get involved in. These web sites that encourage lucid dreaming and instruct you to do “reality checks”…switching on a light switch to see if you’re awake or not. Then if you are dreaming, they encourage you to jump off your balcony and try to fly. Frankly, not knowing if I am dreaming or awake is quite terrifying to me. What if you are actually awake and jump out your window to have one of those cool flying dreams? Watch the movie “waking life” …its about lucid dreaming ….really freaky for a cartoon animation. It asks the question, ‘Are we sleepwalking through life or wake walking through our dreams?’ Imagine being stuck inside a dream and cannot wake.
