Picnicface was great. I loved going to their shows back when and still go see Mark Little and Andy Bush whenever they come through town, but it’s time to move on.
Every time there’s a show even remotely funny happening in HRM the reviewer always opens with “Not since Picnicface.” Stop. They’re gone now, have been for a while, aren’t coming back anytime soon and you’re doing a disservice to all the new talent around the city. Example: Chanel and Frank are two comics running shows every week in the city and are completely ignored. The Company House feels like an actual comedy club and their High Life show is turning people away at the door every week because it’s sold out. Yeah, they’re not Picnicface, but Andy Bush was the one who told me to go see the shows and I almost never miss one since, so that must count for something. —Art Isn’t Gentrification

You know in Migmaw Halifax means “remember that time when…”. This city is always looking back, reflecting on the past. When Sloan was the next big thing it was “not since Denny Dougherty and the Mamas and the Papas” or “hoping to follow in the foot steps of April Wine” in all the local media. What I want to know is does this happen in the local sports scene? Or is it just limited to the latest hipster scenes?
Lol bet this was written by one of the two people mentioned as having great shows- Chanel/Frank. A cute attempt at guerilla marketing.
Back in my day gorillas weren’t in marketing, they were behind the baggage carousel at the airport beating the bejesus out of the luggage.
Picnicface was so overrated. I’m with Yangzee on this one. This city spends far too much staring fondly in the rearview mirror & when it does look forward, it’s on the fucking phone texting.
This bitch is so irrelevant, I don’t know if I should agree or disagree. And frankly, i don’t give a shit.
Not really feeling the Picnicface lovefest. That one thing they did was kinda funny, and one of the chicks was kinda cute. Other than that, move along please, please move along.
I think the Moderator has run away.
Ahhhh, ‘PicnicFace’, those were the days……………….
Remember when Four on the Floor was funny? Neither do I.
