All of you folks that confused the colour orange for change. Not even a year in office and DD and friends (and the other two evil parties) are up to their asses in the trough. I thought they were suppose to be the new broom, the saviours of Nova Scotia. Well I guess the truth has come out and quicker than Ernie Fage gets home from a bar.

“quicker than Ernie Fage gets home from a bar”.
Love it
I guess you’re talking about Reflections.
um, the article I think you’re referring to isn’t a yearly study… in fact it stated that the figures haven’t been checked in 15 years… so you can blame past leaders for that little gem.
If anything D squared has been more open about how things really are rather than rotten rodney concealing everything.
Well I’ve been watching and this is the FIRST government to be corrupt. they REALLY pulled one over on us.
How I wish we’d voted red or blue. THEY would never stoop so low. ever. ( sarcasm )
I still love the fact that when you can count on 2 hands and your short-arm the number of elected officals in the country who have served so much as a day in the military, Nova Scotia’s first”Socialist” premier is a former Naval Officer. You just know the middle aged hippies, young anarchists and Chomsky- farting Sandalistas have a major bone up their collectivized asses over that one.
I still remember that beer you bought me in the wardroom before shipping out to Chilliwack DD so hold the line , and remember that verse from the old book that goes “A man’s enemies will be those of his own household.”
Like Obama in the US, it seems like everyone in Nova Scotia thought that Dexter was going to be some sort of Messiah, like the Second Coming of Jesus here to save all of us from previous gloom and doom. How wrong we all were.
Ohh, and not to get too personal, but man, does Darrell ever need to lose a few pounds! Too many Darrell fries, I reckon.
We weren’t wrong Q. Dexter and Obama understand that the closer you govern to the center, the better you govern for all. As for all those progressives and true believers who greeted their election like it was the Berlin Wall going back up, heh, heh, their tears sustain me, Oh yes, Oh yes. Schadenfreude is sweeter than a peppermint mocha frappuccino.
My God, people are dumb. Everyone is trying to pin this on Dexter. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not trying to defend him, I think he has effed up enough as premier. But, this “scandal” is spread across the party lines.
The expenses that were audited go back three years, so if you want to blame a leader it would make sense to blame Rodney MacDonald. But, you can’t (and I hate the guy) because this is not the fault of any single party.
What I gathered from the news last night:
Wayne Gaudet (L) paid his brother to clear his parking lot.
Richard Hurlbur (PC) bought a generator for his house.
Darrell Dexter (NDP) bought a camera and a laptop.
Just to name a few.
What really gets me about this is that all the MLAs are now coming out and saying they will pay for these expenses. Ummmm…FAIL! You should not have bought them in the first place.
If I did this were I work (used company funds to by personal goods) I would be fired. Even if I paid back the money the next day. This is not acceptable at all.
My favourite of the lot has to be Mr. Hurlburt from Yarmouth caliming the generator was for the community, moreover, the senior citizens home down the road from his place. On CTV last night, he said something along the lines that he installed the generator at his place and should the power go out all the seniors would be welcome to come to his place. Well, Mr. Hurlburt, if it was truly for the seniors, why not install it there. Seems simple enough to me, but, then again I am only an average joe and what the hell do I know.
I think all MLAs that have had their spending questioned have to come forward. The governement needs to be honest and open about this. It is annoying that the party leaders are not compelling their members to do this.
And, do you want to talk about more arragonace. Did you see Stepehn McNeil on CTV? Refusing to apologize to NS for the actions of his party members? What the hell is that? No wonder people have no trust for any politicans.
Anyway, back to my original point. Yes, we have a right to be pissed off about this. Actually, I feel we have a duty to be pissed off. However, let’s put the blame where it belongs. Not any one party, but to all those MLAs who took our money for their own person gain.
P.S. I am dying to know who bought 11 laptops in a three year span.
O.K. I’m done.
No one is saying it’s just Dexter and the NDP. We all know they like the trough. The difference was the “holier than thou” attitude Dexter and his party had when in opposition and stating they would be doing business differently. Now in power, they are just like the rest, abuse of expenses and broken promises.
