To the able-bodied row of ignoramuses on the crowded bus today. Yield your seats to elderly and handicapped persons! Do it! Pretty sure this includes that fragile 85-year-old lady. —Just as cramped as you are

did you speak up when you noticed this? it’s quite effective. address yourself to the sitting idiots. choose one and quietly say ‘would you like to give up your seat for that lady/gentleman?’ and make sure you hold the path to that seat open for the elderly person. if one person speaks up, others will support.
be the first.
Was it one of the disabled seats? Because, if not, don’t count on common courtesy. Count on this response: “What, but it’s not a delegated seat?”
The able bodied probably thought, hey fuck it, isn’t it free ride for seniors on Tuesday, let her stand?
People are ignorant.
Wouldn’t matter if it’s senior’s day or not….people sitting wouldn’t give up seats for their mothers
There is a seniors day on the people carrier? Learn something new here every day!
Back in Blighty Seniors get free bus passes every day, there was an article where 2 old gimmers made it halfway across the country in 2 weeks for free, and not standing up either.
Really the driver needs to pay closer attention to this. There was one day this fat, entitled white trash cow threw a tantrum because people told her to yield her seat to a tiny, elderly lady with a cane, even called the old lady (who hadn’t said a word to her) nasty names and the driver just kept on driving and pretended nothing was happening.
He should have kicked her off. I made a complaint to metro transit over that incident but it still keeps happening..
I agree with the OP-er and I hope you said something.
