I wish all of the other regulars that come to your place for a bite to eat would realize that you treat your employees like shit!!

Your waitresses (who are always fantastic) never stay for more than a month or so, and once I paid attention to how they are treated, I stopped eating there.

Your food is cheap, really good, you serve huge portions, and the regulars are an eclectic and interesting bunch but I think that if they started to look at the way you treat your waitstaff, they just might stop going too.

You’re super friendly and inviting to those of us that come to eat, why treat the people who serve us so poorly?? —I care more about your employees than you do

  1. Seriously though? Were pretty good at figuring out puzzles…we just need some little clues.

  2. I actually wrote a review similar to this about a restaurant/coffee place, downtown on Graville. The owners are terrible to their staff. It made me so mad I called and complained. I just became friends with my favorite waitress and stopped going lol

  3. I recently bitched about the stench coming from a certain local cafe…same neighbourhood.

  4. Once you look up from your meal and/or conversation and watch how the owners interact with their servers, it’s obvious how badly the waitresses are treated.

Yet people still give them their business. That makes no sense to me.

  5. yeah I haven’t gone into that place since a girl I know pointed out the same thing, I didn’t want to believe it because I really liked the place, but it’s true, the owner is not cool…..I miss the Saturday breakfasts but I’ve found other places to go so no big deal.

  6. I have worked for restaurant owners that were down right evil to their employee’s; it’s not that uncommon ; I think it’s the long hours and all the idiot/sketchy types you get in the bus.

  7. i dunno either pk. i tried to sling grub for good owners westcoasttalkshowhost but the bad’uns showed me how not to treat people…DISCLAIMER: i do not employ cooks

  8. Another thing, my dad says that he will stop driving the moment he finds himself unfit to drive. He used to smoke like a chimney and quit cold turkey, so I believe him.

  9. I know exactly where this place is and must say I am fucking disappointed that the owner does this to his employees. I frequent the place a couple of times every three months or so – must keep an eye out for this and, fear not, if I see abuse, my mouth won’t be fucking clamped.

  10. so, report them to the labour board, or human rights place. jesus, do we have to think of everything for some people.

  11. I’d rather see the owner change his behaviour and treat his staff nicely than him going out of business and the staff losing their jobs. But a little spanking works for me too.

  12. Someone tell me where it is. Ill go when I get back from BC and look for the owners treating the staff like shit so I can yell out, “HEY! PAISAN! I CAN’T ENJOY MY VEAL WHILE YOU’RE YELLING AT A WOMAN LIKE SHE’S A FUCKING CRIMINAL!”

We can make a group event of it. TTFN and I will be the mouthpieces while PK tries to calm everyone down.

  13. Wow, sebastian, that will TOTALLY show the restaurant boss what’s up and alert every single perosn in NS not to go there. Just go swallow a cyanide-laced cock already.

  14. I just got fired at Murphy’s on the Water because I expressed discontent on FACEBOOK that I was losing hours while a guy who I work with still gets 48 hours a week (I get 18). He has no bills at all and doesn’t attend university. I have a place of my own, and go to University. Worse, is that the coworker is so terrible at his job and lazy. And complains to me all the time about how he has too many hours. What is wrong with this world!!! And don’t get me started on all the times food fell on the floor at Murphy’s and they served it… one week I wouldn’t eat fish and chips because the fish were in a dish washing sink next to a sink being used to wash dishes. They got all sorts of black grime on them and who knows what kinds of bacteria from the dishes around them and they were covered in soap… they rinsed them, cooked them, served them… THIS IS WHAT YOU PAY 15 DOLLARS FOR AT MURPHY’S!!!!!

  15. Careful Ashley – this might not be the best place to air things like this…. we have a vow of “no names” on LTWWB, hun. Hope you find a better job.

  16. No name rule, yes, but I am kind of glad to know what goes on in that restaurant now. I have never been there, and now that I know this, I never will. There are jobs that will help you build better work experience to put on your resume, Ashley. I wish you good luck on getting one like that, and at a place that respects your schedule and needs as a student. Good luck.

  17. I’m fairly new to Halifax, don’t suppose anyone could discretely drop a line about where this is? I’d prefer not to end up going there accidentally if I can help it.
