I tell you about some of the goals I have and dreams I see my self striving to reach. You do your best to try and shit on any thing I want to do with my life because you have committed yourself to a life of nothing better than you have today. You are a young professional adult for christ sakes why would you ever say “I’ll never have that” or “who would ever have the money for that?” That’s bullshit man!
You love to see me and other friends fail so you can justify the boring decisions you make with your life, well that is great but do not expect to keep acting like everything you do is the right way and all else is the wrong way and keep any friends.
I am a loyal friend and maybe that is the only reason I keep listening to your bullshit but not sure how much more I can care what you say.

Common attitude. Nobody likes to admit they’ve settled in life, so they try to bring down anyone who tries for more. They hope you won’t succeed because that’ll justify them not trying themselves. Don’t pay attention to them, if you don’t get what you want you’ll at least have the satisfaction of having tried. Better that than playing it safe.
You’re not the only one in this boat OP!! I’ve got friends who do nothing but complain about their situation and do nothing to change it. I get things like “I wish I could do what you did”. (I went back to school two years ago at the age of 27 and got myself a whole new career. Whenever I tell them that they can do it too, the general response is: “Yeah, but it’s not that easy for me”. WTF?! You seriously think it was easy for me to uproot myself, move 500kms away and go back to school after being out for almost a decade? To be that far (yet that close) from friends, family and any kind of support and be completely on my own? To go to school full time and work full time on top of it? I am finding it increasinly difficult to put a positive spin on their negative outlook and at this point I don’t even want to anymore. Good on ya for keeping your head up, your goals in focus and not letting anyone tell you otherwise! Best of luck getting everything you want out of life!
