someone please tell me whos braniac idea it was to give the source bouncers handcuffs? their fucking fat heads are enough to keep people out of the doorway theyre guarding, do you really need to handcuff non-violent crying females to prove a point? i have seen sooooo much useless violence from this team of “professionals” it makes me sick. theyre almost as bad as the police force themselves (which im convinced are here to bully us and not protect us)

Do security guards actually have a lawful right to handcuff a person? If you were handcuffed by a security guard you might have a reasonable chance of pressing charges against them for unlawful confinement or something. I’m a little wary of giving these guys authority to detain people like that….I’m not convinced they have the training or the inclination to properly interpret the nuances of the law or to diffuse a potentially volatile situation.
I know security guards have to go through special training. Whether that legally gives them the right to handcuff someone I don’t know. However, I can see the use if there is someone who is being violent. Luckily for me I only have been handcuffed for other purposes…

Once security guards are licensed (which itself does not require special training) they can get endorsements on their license to carry handcuffs as well as impact weapons (ASP batons). Training is required to get the endorsements.

Not that I would allow a security person to man-handle me but it’s called citizen’s arrest and anybody can do it if they see someone breaking the law.Dum Dumbs!
