Considering how much a bus pass cost, metro transit is a fucking rip off. It never comes the time it’s supposed to, 9 times out of 10 the drivers are assholes, I cant count how many times an alderly person has tripped or fallen becuase the drivers taske

There seem to be a lot of nay-sayers in Halifax that want to find fault in everything, unfourtunately. Agreed, it’s only one night, go for it
I find people fascinating. I’m no spring chicken – far from it in fact. And I’m no hippy, free loving, middle aged lady who can’t let go of her youth. I work for a living and I’m a professional, rational woman. I’m just older now and I no longer go to concerts because frankly, it’s too loud and I prefer to listen to music in the comforts of my home. But I’ve been to hundreds of concerts in my life and I’m amazed at how people can get so worked up about one night. Let the concert goers have some fun. Who cares if it’s a little loud for one night. With all the sad things happening in the world right now, let’s enjoy ourselves. Let everyone be happy and listen to some musical legends. Why are people so concerned about their tiny little worlds for just one night? It’s not like their building an open air stadium next to your home. Come on people. Loosen up, let go of your self involved, anal retentive ways. IT’S ONLY ONE NIGHT — let them have their fun.If you can’t leave your place – have a look out the window, sit on your balcony, look up at the sky and watch the fireworks. They may just impress you. You could be listening to bombs go off in your backyard — be thankful you’re just worried about a few fireworks.

I just want to TOTALLY take my hat off to the first comment, while i am no spring chicken myself i also feel the same way as this lady. Life is too short not to grab a moment or at least respect those who are!! Stones not my bag, but I hope they Rock for those who do enjoy them!!!! cause if it was Pink Floyd or AC/DC I would want the same!!!
The Rolling Stones suck. Anyone who would pay 100$+ for tickets to see a band 20 years past their prime is retarded. Don’t get me started on the opening acts… Sloan? When was the last time they out something worthwile? Alice Cooper? Give me a break, this is just a geriatric tour for has beens for morons that don’t know any better. Sucka!
i guess nobody ever thought of using the exhibition park or maybe shearwater somewhere outside the downtown core where there is a lower concentration of people.I think concert goers could have just as much fun there and the ball fields wouldnt be fucked up and the property owners of the city wouldnt have to foot the bill to fix them.The businesses recieve all of the extra income, promoters make out like bandits and the hotels quadruple their rates for the week, WOO FUCKING HOOas a propery owner and a taxpayer to the city coffers, I say there is a much better location to hold this fucking thing where it woulnt cost so much for cleanup and repairs……and hey the economic benefits and reputation of the city still would be intact.

This is the essential point here. Is Halifax actually a city of is it a quaint seaside town?This place suffers from extreme dual personality disorder. Wise the f*ck up whiners. If you want a village then move to the south shore and let Halifax at least try to be a real city once in a while.
I am in complete agreement on the issue of drivers taking off like they’re driving a formula 1 race car and they’ve just had a tire replaced. For god’s sake, let people sit down. ESPECIALLY elderly people. I can’t wait for the day some senior citizen is thrown to the floor, breaks a hip, and sues Metro Transit’s ass off.
I especially like the driver who think they are driving Formula One when turning a corner or breaking hard in traffic .
Ok, lets turn this argument around… what about those people who are unsteady on their feet and insist on standing up before the bus has stopped. Is the driver somehow at fault? Nope. And nor is he/she at fault for taking off when a person is still standing – hold on to the stanchions to get to your seat and if you are elderly or disabled then make use of the courtesy seats up front. Can you imagine how late the buses would be if the drivers had to molly coddle every freaking passenger. Christ people, transit buses were designed for standees when in motion.
There are handles and places to hold on all over the bus, and there is no transit operation that waits until people are seated.And the shedule doesn’t usually allow the driver time for the passengers to be seated,in my 17 years on the bus I’ve yet to see someone fall,your on a moving vechicle and you should expect it to move.And as far as driver’s being asshole’s your obviously the 5% that take the bus that are a pain in the ass and that other passengers and drivers can’t stand you sanctimonious bitch,buy a car and do the rest of us a favor.
