I hate COPD, Cancer, Fibromyalgia, and any other disease that affects the ones we love. My mom has Fibro and is in extreme pain over the holidays. This sucks. The pain is all throughout her body and yes she has medication but it only helps so much. I hate COPD as it took my dad and my grandfather! I hate heart and stroke disease as it took my grandmother. By 2012 at least some fucking health offical should help to find a cure or make it better for those that have it! —Fuck you diseases, wishing all who have it would get better.

Me, too, kid. My Hub-Unit has been disabled for nearly six years with a yet to be diagnosed nerve problem. I have watched my big, strong Hub-Unit become a former shadow of himself – he uses a walker full time now, rarely moves from his chair at home. I was scanning some old photos of us one night and it was such a reality check. It breaks my heart to watch him struggle with each step but I know I have to be strong for him. Be supportive and loving, OB, that’s all you can do.

I read this mornings paper & never seen it. He was a really great guy, I met him & worked with him on several pictures. I remember once in Newfoundland, I can’t remember if it was ‘The Devine Ryan’s’ or ‘Shipping News’, but we had been doing some brutal all night shoots for over 10 days & we had finished our last night of filming ,& had the week end off.
We were all at Hotel Nfld, 8am drinking & having breakfast/supper (for us) When Pete sat down with us & the Waiter came to take a drink order. We all ordered, & 15- 20 minutes later when the waiter came back Pete reordered everyone’s drink from memory & got it right (this was 9 or 10 guy’s)
He was a real Professional, always knew his lines, was always prepared & when you were off work, he was just like everyone else….
If he’s gone, we’ve lost a great actor & a nice guy ~:'(

Sorry to be the breaker of bad news folks. He was a great actor and just about every Sharpe fan reveres him for his 2 turns as the psychotic Sergeant Hakeswill. When Bernard Cornwell was last in Halifax he told of how Mr. P. jokingly complained to him that despite his repertoire of movies, when he was walking down a London Street he was most likely to greeted with “Oi!. Obadiah”

He was just like anyone you like that you met at work. He could crack a joke with the best, loved a pint & when we (the crew) made plans for a private party at Rocky’s in Trinity Bay Nfld, Pete was front & centre ,dancing smooozing & just one of the group, I’ve worked with some ….ummm difficult celebrities in almost 30 years of doing my job & he truely was as down to earth as you could ever find anywhere.
This is upsetting me more than when my dog died , last christmas !

funny thing you say there o.p., they should find a cure. shit, they have already for most of this shit, including cancer, but they don’t get any research money if they let that out. as far back as 1949, there has been a cure for cancer of most kinds, but governments keep it under wraps. why you ask, so that the population doesn’t grow to large to handle. add to that a war every so many years, and you have population control, without birth control.
yeah, i know it sucks to watch people you care about, being sick and dying. but the ones to blame are the big pharmaceuticle companies. they are the ones holes back the cures, so they can gouge us for their placeboees.
What medication is your mom on, OP? There’s a relatively new drug used for nerve pain (fibro/neuropathy/etc…) called lyrica. It’s super expensive, but my dad relies on it for his neuropathy and without it he would have problems playing his bass. Gov’t pharmacare program won’t cover it, surprise, surprise, but if you have private insurance, you’re set.
