I fucking smoke – deal with it.
As fucking taboo as it has become I will admit without hesitation that I am a smoker, yes that’s right I fucking smoke – deal with it. I do not agree with the estrangement that been brought upon smokers, not being able to smoke in any public place, inclu

Know what? I don’t fucking want to breathe in your disgusting cigarette smoke everywhere I go…I’d take people sucking face or noisy brats any day of the week over you!
that’s the whole point “fuck off!!”. you don’t HAVE to breathe in anyone’s smoke anymore, because all smokers have been relegated to social pariah-dom. so YOU fuck off. i wish you earfuls of screaming babies and eyefuls of spit swapping PDAs, as i sit in my house smoking cigarettes because as long as the gov’t wants to run my life and independent businesses, there’s nowhere left to go.
i don’t smoke and i don’t judge those that do. this is the way i look at- years ago it was cool to smoke- there was copious advertising promoting smoking- the government has always made money from the taxes on cigarettes.-the society as a whole followed each other to the stores to purchase these “cancer sticks” like cattle to the slaughter house.– recent years scientists have proved smoking is bad for your health.-smoking is a drug that is HIGHLY addictive.- second hand smoke can be the most lethal.- society as awhole now looks at smokers like they are bad people who should control themselves. like the cattle again one by one another person is suck into this world of judgement and condemption!- government still making tons of money,i think if we are to judge anything it is the government that is reaping the benifits without recource or even a semblince of accountablity-just make them illegal already- and give everyone who smokes the method with which they can quit!!
yeah think about it dumb ass, its hard enough to quit by yourself. Just having to walk through thirty clouds of tobacco smoke on my three block walk to work everyday makes me almost want to upchuck my breakfast. I am having a real problem letting go of my cravings for smokes, and having to walk through it every day is just more mental advertising i didn’t sign up for.
You think you’re angry?? Try the rest of us who can’t walk anywhere without stepping on your butts. You fuckers think the world is literally your ashtray, I especially like the drivers that just flick out their butt onto the ground. I’d love to collect a bucketfull and drive their heads into it.
Hey fuckwad, if you suck on that cigarette, I wonder what else you suck on! Keep your smoke to yourself.
they’ve removed all outside ashtray boxes at Bayer’s Rd. S.C. and as a result, the 50 or so people who work there and who are smokers are butting out on the sidewalk. Nice exchange? I think not! How the hell does smoking 14 meters from an entrance bother anyone? I can see a strong backlash in the works from responsible smokers who have tried every possible method to restrict others from the effects of their smoke. What’s left is intolerant people who can’t stand that there are still people who smoke period whether it’s around them or not. I’m getting bloody pissed off too and my patience has been tested to it’s limits. Bring it on intolerant non-smokers, I’m waiting for you.
u knowingly harm other people (2nd hand smoke is toxic) & u tell us 2 go ‘fuck yourself!’…. FUK U man, how would you like a punch in the face, it will heal quicker than lung damage’sucking face’ and ‘noisy brats’ are not cancerous, kissing & noisy children r 2 of the greatest beauties in life, 2 bad u can’t c that, perhaps the holes in your brain r affecting your mood
I’ve got to deal with noisy fucking brats and people sucking face, too. The only difference, asshole, is that on top of that I have to deal with your goddamn smoke. And on top of THAT, I have to deal with it with a fucking asthma attack, coughing fit and beautifully blood-stained spit. And on top of ALL that, I have to deal with jerkoffs like you who think that you have the right to spew that vile shit into other people’s lungs. I have no problem with smokers–just ignorant assholes like yourself. I swear I’m gonna start carrying around mace so the next time a smoking dickhole’s fumes clog my airways in a non-smoking area, I can just give him/her a little spritz down the throat so they can see how it feels.
Finally – Someone with the stones to publicly say what we – the discriminated smoker – are thinking! I am a tax payer. I am a Canadian. Therefore, I have rights. It is beyond abhorrent to me that places like Vancouver and Toronto have places for heroin addicts to shoot up (and the police certainly aren’t swooping in and raiding and arresting these shit stain low-lifes which are nothing but a cum shot that Mommy should have swallowed), but I, as a tax payer and a productive member of society am forced to behave like I’m some kind of deliquent because I smoke? I don’t think so. Here’s a news flash: Smoking is not a habit; it’s an ADDICTION. You bleeding heart fucks are so quick to be compassionate to alcoholics, junkies, etc: Cut us some slack. Why don’t you all climb back into your ozone depleting SUV’s, drink your lattes, save the seals and….FUCK OFF!!!!
Boo-Hoo-fucking-Hoo. You poor little non-smokers. Don’t you think you’re getting your lungs filled with all kinds of other environmental pollution, not just cigarettes? You live in a fucking dream world.
I agree with K. The government supported the continued advertisement of the cigarette companies, and reaped the benifits. Just because we know now that it’s toxic, doesn’t mean we should discriminate. Would you hate your neighbour if you knew they had asbestos in their attic insulation? Which was sold to them at a discounted price because it was gov’t funded? Come on people, we know who to blame here. I don’t agree with you narrow minded individuals that seem to think the only problem in the world is people smoking cigarettes in public buildings. I don’t really agree with the rule, but I’m not totally against it either. At the same time it’s not like someone is holding a gun to your head and making you go anywhere that is cigarette friendly. If you don’t like it, leave. What about wheelchair users that cannot access great stores because they don’t have ramps, or people who have to stand on a public sidewalk waiting for a bus and get polluted by people, exhaust, etc? I think that we’re all being a little bit damn immature here. If the gov’t doesn’t want public smoking, then we don’t get public smoking. What are we going to do? We’re going to go outside and smoke. It’s stupid that people are getting so heated about it. So what if you have to be respectful of smoking inside a public building? It kind of makes sense to me. Doesn’t bother my time. I’ll freeze my nads if I need a smoke that bad. There’s other things to be concerned with.As for those of you who insist on insulting eachother because of a personal choice that we all made at some point in our lives, you really need to grow up and widen your narrow views. Who cares if Joe Blow lights up? It’s his choice, and you have no right to judge him because of it. In closing, I figure in another 2 or 3 years, enough of you bitches will be whining about smokers on the sidewalks that we won’t be allowed to smoke outside, either. Meh, whatever.
Holy fuck, I am not a smoker but these guys get a bad rap, stop driving your fucking cars then, cause it is killing me, all the cocksucking fucking pollutants coming from those oversized SUV’s and diesel spewing buses trains and planes, people get some fucking sense ban the automobile, limit the amount a person can drive, much more dangerous than the second hand smoke out there.
Wow – comparing smoking to driving is really stretching it. Come on. Okay HRM, pass a by-law banning everything but bicycles and solar powered vehicles in public buildings. I guess it makes sense that if smokers are no longer able to pollute restaurants and malls and bars and office buildings with their cigarettes, then I can’t drive my car through the mall either. Fair’s fair.
seriously how can you prohibit something that is totally legal- it is an oxymoron!!! the government needs to shit or get off the pot!!!!
Oh so don’t ban driving just because it will effect you is that what you are saying? The pollution in the air and water has no affect on us either so its ok to still drive and burn all those fossil fuels?
im not a smoker, but you guys are GREATLY exageratting. I find it hard to believe you walk THREE SMOKE FILLED blocks to work and cant breathe til you get there. Im sure you can find a single spot in the whole mumford terminal to stand without there being smoke. Stop acting like children and making gross exagerations. Walk around, deal with it. Its not going to kill you, as much as you want to say it ITS NOT GOING TO KILL YOU. walking past a smoker every now and then WILL… NOT… KILL YOU. Say it with me folks… willllllllll nottttt killlllllll meeeeeee. Seee!! its okaaaaaaay!!!Relax. I bet half of you are fat anyway, and bitching about people killing themselves smoking while you clog your arteries with another burger. p.s. theres no proof that second hand smoke kills.. literally. we all know it has affects sure sure, but there is no proof. so shaddup.
I used to smoke and man, I had no idea that I stunk ASS, man! It’s in your mouth! That ass smell! Nevermind the stigma and alienation…..you stink. You don’t even know. But if you work and you’re on a schedule, STAY ON SCHEDULE! You still stink.
Look… I just had a baby. Try walking to work (on spring garden) feeling your baby kicking inside you and then breathing in other peoples smoke! I would literally have to cup my hand over my mouth so I couldnt taste it! ITS NOT FAIR FOR ME OR MY CHILD!!!!!!! IT FUCKING SUCKS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD!!! And that was just this summer!!! So if you want to be nasty go be nasty and kill yourself in private and let me and my child be healthy in PUBLIC!!!! How bout them apples?????
I recently quit smoking – well, its only been a month – and my own attitude has changed quite a bit. When I did smoke (1.5 packs/day dor 10 years), I got very defensive about my smoking, justifying it, talking of “my rights” and all that jazz. That’s just crazy. Probably some deeply engrained guilt complex at killing myself, innocent passers-by, and wasting $10 a day of my families hard earned money. It is so bloody hard to quit, but it is certainly worth it. I hope that the the further restrictions on smoking have some positive effects. For me, though, it was definately the continual price increases; just got too hard to justify spending more on smokes than on my 1 year old son.
I’m hearing alot of crapBlah blah smokers rightsBlah blah government at faultBlah blah blahThe truth is the non smokers have to breathe in your smoke. Go ahead you do have the right to slowly kill yourself everyday. You do have the right to go to work or school smelling like an ashtray. You do have the right to yelled fingers and teeth. But since we’re talking about your right to blow smoke then how about I exercise my right to blow a big fart in your face everyday. Seems like a fair trade off don’t you think
Last time i checked there was a little thing called the Charter of Rights and Freedoms…and i didnt realize that being a smoker automatically made me less of a human…i have no problem sitting in a smoke clogged smokers room…because it’s my choice….but to tell me that i can’t enjoy my vice because it fucking rubs someone the wrong way…fuck off…i dont blow smoke in a non-smokers face…and when i do by accident i feel bad and apologize…all we ask is that we get some fucking respect…rather then being herded into ever smaller “Smoker-Friendly” zones…where we can’t be seen…lest someone actually think that we are human fucking beings…
you know what… I’m Fuckin’ tired of people shittin’ on smoker’s. it is an addiction that the government has create to collect profit from. what is the cost, people’s health everywhere. yes I think no one should be smokin’ and in an ideal world- cigaretts would not have been enhanced, promoted, and then later to be condemned yet all the while still always collecting money from the sale! let’s put some responsiblity on our worldwide government that refuses to make this product illegal, but in an attempt to paint themselves in a better light will recommend the “ostrisization” of a portion of the public that they are still collecting profit from!you can’t have it both ways-
Dude…FUCK YOU! There are people out there who really cannot breathe clearly(esp. in NS where asthma cases are really high). Does that make them more important than you as a citizen? Of course not, but then again you can breathe freely.I can’t wait until they ban asssholes from public places then we really wont have to put up with you or your smoke. One angry asthmatic
Wow, that’s awful that you can’t ruin everyone else’s lungs and eyes and throats with your nasty little habit anymore. You’re also not allowed to stand in a crowded bar and spray asbestos on people. Go figure.
I’m with you, fuck off. I’m sick of being treated like a goddamn leper with a hump. GIVE US OUR FUCKING SMOKING ROOMS BACK!!!!IF CIGARETTES ARE THAT FUCKING BAD FOR YOU, MAKE THEM ILLEGAL AND STOP ALL THIS BULLSHIT! Oh, I forgot, the government can’t afford to lose the revenues. What a joke.
What about the 18 wheelers roaring downtown, belching black smoke for all to consume? Have you ever taken a walk downtown on Hollis Street? It’s far worse than a couple of smokers in front of a building. You go, Fuck Off! You have a right to be pissed.
I heard from a friend today that people were actually calling 911 trying to report people smoking on sidewalks. Anyone who did that was fined and must appear in court. I also heard the phone lines for the police dept. got clogged as well. This is just madness. People have lost all sense of logic and have let extremism take over. They would be the very first to scream blue f’n murder if the police did not respond to an emergency. HRM in all of it’s wisdom passed this by-law knowing full well it cannot possibly be enforced unless all you lovely tax payers want to cough up the money to hire smoking police. A lot of the blame goes to the media for blowing this way out of proportion and reporting half truths. Smoking is not banned in public places like sidewalks and 4 meters from entrances. Read the by-law on the HRM website. All of the bastardization hurled at smokers will do nothing to help people quit. Indeed, it only gets them angry and defiant. To those who will blame their asthma on smoking I can only say that you should be working harder to curb industrial pollutants like that of NS Power – powered by coal no less – and work to eliminate vehicle exhaust in our city which is by far the #1 contributor to your asthma. Being near smokers may irritate your condition, but you can and should avoid areas where smokers gather. That leaves 90% of public venues at your disposal.Anti-smoking extremist activists should be very careful. Smokers are fighting back big time and they just might find themselves with more to handle than they bargained for.
Prohibiting legalities can be good for you. It isn’t illegal to jerk off for example, just not in the elevator on your way to work.I smoke in the privacy of my home, never in public because that to me would be ” blatant Jackassery.”Blatant jackassery is the new black.
So pakr, alcohol is legal, and prohibited. not that i dont agree, i hate this smoking ban. its incredibly stupid. and people are acting worst then 6th grade bullies. get a load of this guy:”Hey fuckwad, if you suck on that cigarette, I wonder what else you suck on! Keep your smoke to yourself.”Wow. So insightful, this guy must be so intelligent, great to hold a conversation with i bet!!! a conversation ABCs is probably the only one he could hold.
Uhm, pakr? Alcohol? Totally legal but with prohibitions. You cannot walk down the street and consume alcohol in public. Lots of other examples available.People is general: The government should put more revenues into smoking cessations programs. We are legislating automobiles to be cleaner. Second-hand smoke is toxic. The offset of the government collecting revenues from cigarettes are higher health care costs for smoking related illnesses. The health care side is quickly outstriping the revenues.
fucking selfishness & a lack of respect/concern 4 the welfare of others… plain & simpleanyone else think it’s completly unfair that people can legally smoke the leaves of a plant that is processed with carcinogenic chemicals in public which affects the health of innocent bystanders & walkers-by but sick people can’t legally smoke the buds of a plant with known medicinal properties in the privacy of their own homes?fuk this gov’t & it’s rules & fuk any of u who selfishly knowlingly harm others with your 2nd hand smoke
Dear Smokers,Yes I agree, it is unfortunate that you can not smoke where you once did,its unfortunate that they take your ashtrays away in an effort to encourage “no smoking” i those areas. It was your choice to smoke and no one should condem you for that, however those who do not smoke all made that choice and its unfortunate when they get a face full of smoke when they don’t have to, hence the new laws. I know you probably wouldn’t like the idea of your children/infants/teenagers smoking, well sometimes they aren’t given the choice, no one is with second hand smoke. Unfair critisism from the general public is just that. Smoking IS an addiction people, its sad that a common ground can’t be found- 1) smokers respect those who choose not to smoke, including exposure to the second hand variety2) non smokers- the law has been passed in favor of your lungs, be happy, and don’t shit on those who are still addicted to it.
How do smokers not have the same rights as non-smokers? You’re still allowed IN the buildings as much as everyone else. You just CAN’T smoke. I see no rights taken away. If anything, you’re taking away the rights of people that don’t smoke and would rather not smoke.
Exscuse me but youll have to put out your campfire because its hurting my lungs.
I dont smoke but have respect for people who do EXCEPT when I became pregnant and was literally FORCED to breathe in other peoples nasty ass smoke while walking to work and school. I dont have a car and have to walk whereever I have to go or take the bus and on a number of occasions while waiting for the bus some jack ass decided to lite up right infront of the pregnant lady. Theres not always a place far enough away from the smoke to stand. Try being pregnant and concerned about the health of your child and trying to go about your everyday life when I cant even walk down spring garden (where I work) without smelling somones smoke. IT SUCKS!!! So to the angry smoker.. screaming kids and kissing in public wont hurt your children SMOKING WILL SO YOU FUCK OFF and start respecting people who actually still care about their health!!! Go kill yourself in private and stop killing my children in public!
Having a smoking section in a restaurant or outside is like having a peeing section in a swimming pool. Disgusting. There’s nothing “wrong” or degrading about smoking – the only problem (which is the heart of the controversy) is regarding your “rights” impeding on the health and wellness of other people. When your “right to smoke” puts the rest of us at a higher rate of respiratory illness or cancer, then I’m sorry, like it or not, your actions are impeding on the rights (and health!) of others. Hard as it may be to quit, it is not our vice.
“JUST trying to keep my kid healthy” – I really doubt that there is not enough room for you to get away from the smoke at the bus stop for crying out loud. Also, refering to smokers that light up at the bus stop as “jackasses” isn’t really nice, some of us are pretty decent people. As already mentioned here, the exaust in the city (and the bus itself)does much more damage than the smoke from one person meters away. If it bothers you that much, how about getting the balls to just ask them politley to butt out. Most likley they will. As a smoker, I realize that it may bother some people but not others, I have always been willing to butt out if asked.
I don’t smoke, but I think that the anti-smoking lobby should put thier resources to use clearing up what is the biggest problem for asthmatics, etc in NS… Nova Scotia Power!I can avoid smokers, I can’t avoid the crap that those three towers spew out all day, every day.
for Just trying to keep my kid healthy:you may be keeping your kid healthy but you sure aint keeping them from swearing. You bad bad swearer. It is so gross when people swear. You should be ashamed. What kind of role model are you. You are a disgrace to women. I hope someone sticks a bar of soap in your mouth and gives it a kick. You need to swallow those words. fuck!
