To certain members of my culture, Christmas can either be a dominant, widely advertised, compulsory holiday, or it can be about Jesus Christ. It cannot be both. —WWSD

  1. Your culture? What are you, yogurt?
Enjoy the aspects of the season that work for you. It’s not difficult. Don’t try to over think it.

  2. Oh mind your own damn business, OB.

If I want to buy shit for my family, eat my face off and STILL go to midnight mass with my mom and my priest uncle/godfather, and then go shop my ass off on the 27th, then I fucking well will.

Who are you to tell people how they can and can’t celebrate Christmas?

    Jerk.

  3. Then you go right ahead and do things the way you want to do them and you just let other people do things the way THEY want to do them.

The only reason you’re so freaked out about how other people do things is that you’re afraid all their choices will tempt YOU into doing things you want to do but think you shouldn’t.

Grow some spiritual discipline or join the ranks of consumers. But don’t expect this city to conform to your personal whims because that is neither pious or righteous. It’s just fucking selfish. Nobody owes you anything, certainly not their undivided obedience.

  4. Illuminati has put a subtle message in this thread…they will brain wash anyone who reads this.

  5. It’s neither for some of us, OP. I don’t celebrate Christmas anymore – it’s just another cash cow holiday for this old agnostic.

A big feast with my family and friends on the day is as near to ‘celebrating’ the birth of some prophet as I get.

  6. I can’t believe i have to spell out that i actually am NOT religious in any way. Merely giving op some advice that religious people can follow and still keep their dignity.
