Thank you to whichever smart fellow threw broken glass on the bridge bike lane, thus forcing me to carry my bicycle the multiple kms back home. I can probably thank one of the many stupid, lazy, self-centred or sadly uninformed car-drivers of our fair city, perhaps it was one of the idiots idling in their SUV’s watching me carry it!

Or maybe it was a cyclist who dropped his case of beer. Not that a lot of cyclists don’t deserve bad shit to happen to them.
I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t a cyclist who dropped his case of beer. And you perhaps don’t understand some basic facts about cyclists versus car drivers. Car drivers are human and thus flawed. Cyclists are human and thus flawed.Car drivers are behind the wheel of multi-ton, polluting, wasteful, death machines.Cyclists are on environmentally friendly, positive, space-saving, efficient, exercise machines, with which you must be supremely skilled to kill someone. There are many more car drivers than cyclists in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia is a very backwards province in terms of transportation and environmental concern. There is a pattern here. Many car drivers have little to show for their lives of consumerist waste other than their expensive money-pit of a vehicle which they parade around in, and get stuck in traffic in while cyclists whiz by in one of Halifax’s two pathetic bicycle lanes. If you have problems with cyclists, you should encourage more bicycle lanes to be built – as this will keep bicycles out of your way, so you can pollute and be a moron in peace.Cheers.
