Once again, I have found myself calling the # on the back of my transfer to issue another complaint against one of HRM’s bus drivers. Being familiar with many other major cities’ transit systems, I can honestly compare the transit service with that of a third world nation, just more expensive. I like how only the ferries seem to have a reliable schedule. Its not fun waiting for a bus when you have no idea when it will come, especially in the winter! —Jbo From The Block

  1. Google transit has never steered me wrong – except if there is an accident or crazy weather to deal with, in which case, you can count on them being late

  2. “I can honestly compare the transit service with that of a third world nation”

I suppose you could, it’d just be a piss poor comparison.
    Meh, compare away.

  3. just get the fucking GPS system working already….
it’s been YEARS implementing this shit.
    it can’t be that hard…

  4. our transit system doesn’t really measure up, no.

Of course, OP how many of these “major cities” you speak of have a subway or train system? See, it’s not practical for a city the size of Halifax to have a system like this. At least at this point in time. So you have to consider that when you compare the two.

Don’t worry. If you’re at all intelligent you’ll adapt. It’s not that hard to adapt to HRM transit, even if it does suck a little.

  5. And btw, “I can honestly compare the transit service with that of a third world nation”

.. are the famous last words of someone who has never been to one.

  6. Well the ferries deal with less traffic, go back and forth across the harbour, might have something to do with a more reliable schedule..FFS

  7. Coming from a place where there was no metro transit, and you had to dish out 20$ to take a cab anywhere in town, I very much appreciate and show love for the buses 🙂

  8. zZz the Go Time is using the GPS now.

This Bitch amuses me, considering the Ferry doesn’t have to deal with traffic tie ups, accidents, rush hour traffic etc… But hey it’s a bus bitch and it seems to be the cool thing to do.

  9. OB, haven’t you learned the lesson Metro Transit is trying to teach you? Visit your local dealership and drive away in your own, new car.

  10. you think you had a rough time o.p., well i had a ride from hell today.
the driver of the 2:30 52 fucked up, took the wrong way, then goes up windsor street to connaught ave, parks for 20 fucking minutes, talking to control, and another driver, on the 9 i think, asked him if he was broken down.
well now, i knew he took the wrong turn, as did everyone else, i even tried to direct him the easies way back to regular route.ohno, he was listening to what control said, and other driver, and still did, what i told him ver 20 minutes earlier to do.
but instead of doing the full route, he just went down bayers, turned left at dutch village, and then kept going. out of service of course. SOME FUCKING PEOPLE, SHOULD OPEN THEIR EARS, AND LISTEN SOMETIMES.

  11. Hey LF you have to understand that although you know the easiest way to get around things we need to wait for control to tell us. If we go the way you tell us and a complaint gets called in because the bus is on a non transit street then we have to explain why we where there and did not ask for directions. So in the future shut the fuck up and let the driver follow the rules!
